ONE POUND OF FAT---I LOST FIFTEEN!!!
I lost 85# 2 yrs ago over 1.5 yrs, gained back in 8 months. Plan to lose 100# in 10# increments over the next yr (or sooner!) Would love to KEEP IT OFF this time. Will post pics asap (can't find my digital camera).

3-3-2010 I have lost THIRTEEN POUNDS and so pleased about that. I have a long way to go but my mini goal is 7 more pounds for an even 20. My goal after that is is 8 more then 10 more and at that point I will be at 200...a milestone point.
1-4-2010 Rcv'd my online order of MediFast. I am up to 238 and desperate to turn the scale the other direction. Also renewed annual Golds Gym membership which I never use but for only $200/yr I keep it renewed (excellent price).
2/15/09 to 4/24/09: Fell off the wagon...I have gained back the fifteen pounds it took me 4 months to lose, only took two months or less to re-gain. I quit working out and started sleeping in, drinking too much and eating anything and everything. None of my clothes fit and I went to buy some new ones today and couldn't find anything that would fit. I bought three pcs of art for my home and looked at shoes, purses and candles etc because clothes shopping was a disaster. I went to the grocery store and bought a new supply of healthy foods to start "sparking" again tomorrow.
02/01/09 to 02/14/09: During this time period I realized I'm an Official Sparker (hence my first blog on 1/29 called "Officially Sparked")...I realized I'm completely free of cola and sugar. I graduated from just a little walking on my treadmill and a little stretching to doing 3 or 4 spark videos in a row and doing 30 minutes elliptical, later in the day doing another 30min elliptical. I walk outdoors an hour at a time. I'm using 8# dumbbells. I still haven't started using my cable weight gym because it's missing a critical part (the cable wt. gym was given to me). I did however get it all put together, found user manual on-line and am in process of ordering the part so I can begin using the cable weight system. I renewed my Gold's Gym membership which I do every year but never go...I want to use my cable weight system at home at first to work up to going to the gym and using the really good iron weight cable systems there---I just don't feel "fit" enough to go to the gym yet. I'm not procrastinating, I just want to go when I can feel good rather than feeling inferior and perhaps fall into a relapse.
(2/12) I realized today that I have lost ten pounds so I upgraded the Spark emblem from 5# Lost to ***10# LOST***. Today I also changed my background from the beach in Cancun to the beautiful white deck that looks out to the island. I imagine myself sunning on the deck in a swimsuit (and looking fit). Today I also typed in the Progress Notes because I need to remember how I got here. I know it's only 10 pounds, but it has taken two and a half months for me!!!!!! I read about others who can lose 10# in one week, but that hasn't been the case for me. I also know there were slip-ups along the way and many many days I didn't workout at all. Perhaps if I had been more perfect I could have made this progress a lot quicker...but I read the comments of others who slip up and don't workout and they lose so much as soon as they get back on track...it hasn't been that easy for me...I slip up just a tiny bit and I lose so slowly...but it's also been a learning experience for me to know that is the case for me and I have to continue to try harder than some others and I HAVE TO BE CONSISTENT. My body is very efficient at holding on to what it has stored, it is very stubborn to let go of the fat, so I have to be more steadfast than some other people. That's what I've learned and that's just the way it is.
01/01/09 to 01/31/09: Began NEW YOU SPARK Bootcamp, putting stability ball & dumbbells into action...started w/ 2# dumbbells, increased to 5#, then increased to 8#. By this time I'd also changed sparkpage from default orange background to a motivating picture I took of beach in Cancun (not the current background you see now...I upgraded again since then). I'd also added "5# LOST" Spark emblem in upper left corner of my page. I'd joined a few sparkteams looking for friends and motivation. Most of them I decided to leave because they were inactive or didn't stick w/ fitness motivation topics. I discovered a team for my state (official Texas team) and joined (they now automatically put you on your state team which is a great idea). I also joined the official Houston team. I was put on the NEW YOU Bootcamp team when I started bootcamp. I joined a super-active team called DONE BEING THE FAT GIRL and signed up for a small one-month buddy support group w/in that team and we supported each other thru the month of January '09 (Big shout-out to my JADE Done girls!) and that was also during NEW YOU Bootcamp. At this point I was on sev'l active teams, working out pretty regularly and on right track w/food choices.
12/14/08 to 12/31/08: Started biking then winter set in and the holidays. Became too windy for biking to be enjoyable. I could burn more cals biking against the wind but it was no fun and I felt I looked weird pushing so hard. I did well food-wise over the holidays always keeping in mind that I wanted to start the new year well into my new lifestyle and not wait until new year's to begin. I setup a homegym complete w/ treadmill, elliptical, cable weight gym, yoga mat, stability ball, dumbbells (all were gathering dust in garage along w/ bicycle I'd already put back into action). Used treadmill a few times and started some stretching.
11/30/08 to 12/14/08: Discovered SparkPeople.com, began setting up my sparkpage and exploring success stories. The first 2 wks I tracked calories, read Spark info, offered motivation to folks asking for it. I could only offer "motivation" not advice, because until I had some personal success, who was I to advise others? However, we are all in the position, at any time, to motivate others to START, GET UP, GET OUT, CUT OUT COLA, DRINK MORE WATER, DO IT FOR YOU---that sort of thing.
Stay w/in 1200 calories daily & workout daily.
10# incremental goals.
Tracking calories daily. Biking, walking, using my indoor exercise eqmt, videos, etc or GOING to gym. HAVE recognized emotional factors. Practicing avoidance and/or tolerance of people who are not positive to my life and not allowing them to de-rail me.

Thank you for the comment on my blog. You are right...I need to look at smaller goals. 100lbs is just too ominous. And staying out of fast food restaurants. That should have been a no brainier for me, but I just didn't think about it. Best wishes on your journey as well.
