Hi I'm Chrissie, a transplanted Floridian (since 1979) originally from Pittsburgh, PA.

I love nature, the ocean, sunshine, fish, birds, flowers, trees, sky, my dog Cuda, cat Mannie and my BF... Ray, oh, and his cat, Tigger. I enjoy spending time outdoors: diving, snorkeling, boating, kayaking, sunbathing, laying in a hammock, gardening, rollerblading. I also love staying in bed all day, sleeping and watching movies. I love spinning classes and hate them too. I love flying, traveling, exploring, staying in hotels, taking bubble baths and ordering room serivce. I love sitting in a hot tub with a good glass of wine. I love Yatzee, and am not crazy about playing cards. I love Football - Dolphins (#1), Steelers (#2) and then I pretty much choose depending on the quarterbacks ;). I love Kentucky Derby parties and making my own hat. I love to smile.

I work in an amazing private club located in the Keys. Our members are very appreciative, successful, and caring individuals. I work in paradise with a great group of people and opportunities galore.

I so appreciate all that I have been blessed with (including my family and friends), but still seem to find myself getting older and feeling bluh at times. I've always been a little overweight (between 15 to 40), and at any weight, always felt huge (and always wore a size 12 - still do). I look back at the pictures of me in the bikini taken about 4 years ago. I was feeling fat then and now I wish I looked like that again. What's worse, I didn't enjoy it when I looked like that, I always felt embarrased.

I'm turning 47 in June and have been adding pounds over the years. Watching the Biggest Loser has been very motivating for me - if they can do it, I can too. Basically, I know what to eat and how to exercise, but I'm a procrastinater and yes, lazy. I know how I want to feel, but I need to be disciplined to get it. I need to just "snap out of it"! That's why I'm here... this looks like a great support system and I'm looking forward to the challenge ahead. I'm also excited about recruiting my office colleages and forming a TEAM!

Wish me self confidence and discipline!

Thanks in advance.

I think you look great already.

I found there is a trick to working out too much. It will eventually make it harder to lose weight. I just read an article on wikkipedia which said to reve up your metabolism you should eat every two hours. Something nutritious of course. But that keeps your engine burning. If you wait too long to eat, your body goes into starvation mode and holds on to those calories. I also read that after you've lost a few pounds, you have to readjust your calories in and calories expended to reflect your new weight. Otherwise, you plateau.

As as a 52 year old, I can tell you, the older you get, the harder to lose weight. That is because we need less calories the more we age. How unfair!

Good luck, keep positive. I too trained to run in my first 5k in March and now doing another in 2 weeks. Of course, I am basically a walk/runner, but it is all good!

Welcome to SP and the Biggest Loser team! Good luck on reaching your goals. I enjoyed reading your profile. I have had a pair of rollerblades in my closet for about eight years (I HAD to have them for Christmas one year!) and I have never ventured any farther than the kitchen in them! I am a little afraid of breaking something that won't heal too good at 37!
