My name is Erica. I hit the big 3-0 at the beginning of 2016 and other than it being weird to have to say that I am 30, life hasn't changed all that much. I've been married to my high school sweetheart for 12 years now. We have four children (9.5, 6.5, 5, and 3), and now that our family is complete, it's time to focus on ME!
I have started this journey more times than I can count, but I have finally decided that while goal-setting is important, it can also make you crazy. I finally feel like I can be okay with a slow and steady process and I KNOW I am ready for this weight to be gone for good!
I have also recently discovered that "less is more" for me. Life got in the way recently and my 7-day a week, intense workout schedule went out the window. I was knocked down to 5 days a week moderate workouts, and the weight started coming off (I had been holding steady for months). I've been on my moderate intensity plan for about 3 weeks now, and I am loving it!
Lose weight, get healthy, BE in my kids' lives. For a long time. I get caught up in that number on the scale way too often..it is important, but I have to remember that eating right and exercising do a lot more for your body than what you weigh at any given time. Focusing on those two things will eventually make that scale go down anyway! So another major goal is to really focus on what needs to be done and not just the number I see.
