Tired of being the fat friend

Well here I am again, over 200 lbs again and very unhappy about it! I was kicking serious butt, I dropped 60 lbs in 6 months and I was keeping my weight at 203 for a long while there, then August 16th the day I will never forget I pulled out my back and I was told I would have to have surgery. I knew myself well, no self control with the eating, the exercise was the only thing helping me reach my goals and it took me 6 months to gain back 20 lbs from lack of exercise and eating and also from ...

I knew myself well, no self control with the eating, the exercise was the only thing helping me reach my goals and it took me 6 months to gain back 20 lbs from lack of exercise and eating and also from medication given to me by my doctor for my spasms in my back! You see I had surgery on my back January 8th 2009. I have always had a weight problem, my whole life I was the fat but pretty friend, until last year when I was under 200 I was the normal friend I fit in for once and now my size 16s are tight once again and my muffin top is back, I need help!!! I need support from other people who know how I feel!

My Goals:

I am trying to eat low fat and do cardio! I am not allowed to do weights right now because my doctor says no for right now, because of my back surgery

Personal Information:
My name is Melissa! I am 31, 50 lbs over weight and a Mom of 2 of the cutest boys I could ever ask for. I have a husband who loves me for me, not always a bad thing but not always a good thing either, he also does see when I gain or lose weight and that is not helpful for me!

Other Information:
I love to read, I do really like to work out, I used to do 2 hours at the gym and walk 5 miles or more but I am unable to do that anymore because of the back surgery I can start out at 20 minutes of Leslie Sanstone's walk away the pounds videos!

Sending good vibes and prayers for the job!

My best tip for you would be to find a team that is losing about the same amount for the same reason you are. The reasons to lose are the biggest thing for me. I find most my support in my "Wow" team because that's what I'm ultimately in it for: To "wow" people.

I know exactly how you feel.

I too have back problems (ruptured disk, but no surgery). I've had so many procedures on my back, I don't think I could list them all out. I did pilates for a while to strengthen my core, and while it seemed to work a little, I didn't stick with it for long.

Most of my life (well since college) I've been overweight, but under 200lbs. Just recently (the holidays) I hit 200. Since then I've been watching every calorie, and within the past couple of weeks I've made exercise a part of my routine as well. Since Jan 1st, I've dropped 13 pounds. My goal is to lose 50lbs by September 1st for a concert I'm going to near the middle of September, then to run my first 5k in October (Race For The Cure). I'm sure with SparkPeople and the support I find here, I can do it, and I have complete faith that you can achieve your goals as well.
