Fighting Temptation!

Hey everyone! Here I am, finally looking for some support. I gained 20 pounds in a year after marrying (and moving in) with my husband. My BIGGEST challange is temptation-He eats all the worst foods, tons of it, and it is everything I like! He used to eat well and work out but since we have been married well.............(fill the blank). He has gained 20+ pounds this year as well LOL. Hey everyone! Here I am, finally looking for some support. I gained 20 pounds in a year after marrying (and moving in) with my husband. My BIGGEST challange is temptation-He eats all the worst foods, tons of it, and it is everything I like! He used to eat well and work out but since we have been married well.............(fill the blank). He has gained 20+ pounds this year as well LOL. I finally stepped up and said I couldn't do that to my body anymore (he is not onboard). I have 2 young daughters and have always preached a healthy diet (which they have now unlearned). I work nights as an RN and sleep days, sometimes 6 12's a week, but when I am home I watch him eat about 6,000 calories a day and just CAN'T stop thinking about food!!!!! But I am determined, and each day I get just a little better...

My Goals:
-I really want to show my girls what a healthy lifestyle is all about, and be the role model a mother and Registered Nurse should be.
-And a small one of showing my husband that just because you are married doesn't mean you get to stop taking care of yourself!
-(and a 6-pack of abs would be nice rather than my post-baby pooch!)
-We also plan to have another baby eventually, and I want my body to be in tip-top shape when the times comes.

My Program:
-I found a 24 hour gym that offers tanning, for very cheap close to my home. If I want to tan, I must do at LEAST 30 min of elliptical (I am fair, so I need to tan for 5 minutes every day to get anywhere).
-I alternate upper body and lower body strength training every other day.
-I am also watching my calories and essential nutrients very closely.
-Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred....ouchhhh
-Ab training workout 3 times per week
-Trying the 0-5K in 9 weeks program (M,W,F)

You were a beautiful bride. WELCOME to SparkPeople. it is a delightful place to be. If you are open for change, it can happen here.

My suggestions:

1. Drink Water
2. Eat Well - there are meal plans with lots of recipes if you choose not follow a plan
3. Move your body, so many free exercise
4. Track your stuff, movement, food, necessary feelings. If you bite it, drink, swallow it, write it
5. Blog - share your victories, share your bitter days and in all of that, learn to forgive yourself
6. Make friends - support given and support received is invaluable.
7. Smile a lot, you are already beautiful!!!
