Teamwork, Not Slavery

I'm facing the fact that I have to adjust to my body instead of making my body adjust to my dictatorship. If I jump into weight loss without a plan I use the rest of my life, I only find myself starting over and over and over..... This time I am taking things slower, and I'm not letting frustration get the best of me when my schedule is interrupted for a day or even a week at a time. I have been playing with weight loss since I joined Spark People in the summer of 2007. During this time, I have had periods of success and periods of failure. I have found that too often I let other activities steer me away from the healthy patterns that I need to be successful at getting the weight off and keeping it off.

With the support of my family and Spark Friends, I can do this!!!!

My Goals:
2014 goals:
IN A NUT SHELL, GET BACK ON TRACK!!!
1. Strive for 7500 to 10000 steps each day.
2. Lose at least 5 lbs. during the month.
3. Water walking/treading water (30 minutes) or biking (at least 30 minutes) 3 times a week.
4. Strength training 3 times per week.
4. Stay within calorie range (1270 - 1620) by tracking my food each day.

WEIGHT LOSS started February 1, 2014:

First goal: 10 lbs. lost - met March 17, 2014
Second goal: 20 lbs. lost by April, 30, 2014
Third goal: 30 lbs. lost by June 15, 2014

FINAL GOAL: 75 lbs. by December 31, 2014

My Program:
I'm eating healthier, doing 4-6 small meals each day and drinking lots of water. I eat of fruits and veggies and minimal sodium. I drink at least 10 glasses of water--my goal is to get at least 12 to 15 glasses of water each day.

My exercise plan: To get at least 30 minutes of cardio 3 times a week and strength train for at least 45 minutes 3 times a week. By this summer I want to be up to 45 to 60 minutes of cardio at least 6 times a week.

Personal Information:
I'm from Virginia, and have been happily married for 39 years. I have 2 daughters, 35 and 19, a "son-in-love," 13 year old grandson, and a granddaughter born the first week of April.
