We all enjoy gardening in some shape of form. YOU DO eat don't you? Did you ever think of where your food comes from? This is what I think about and enjoy sharing each day. What better way to get healthy.... get out and enjoy what green is around you! December 2015

SUPERSIZE your energy level by getting outside! Together sunshine, fresh air, and walking add up to more endorphins, or happy hormones.

*SUNSHINE boost the Vitiman D - don't forget the sunscreen! I grow and get plenty of exercise maintaining my gardens and 20' geodesic bio dome in Ohio.

*Relax as you soak in the sun and enjoy the sounds of nature. This can reduce Stress levels helping you maintain health.
*BURN CALORIES - by picking up a rake or hoe and get to work in the yard. You not only make yourself pretty- you are making your yard lovely as well.

You can burn up to 30% more calories doing the same physical activities outdoors rather than indoors. Enough said.

In the past years I can honestly say I have once again found myself and been able to enjoy living life young. It was only a few years ago I would lose my breath walking up the stairs. TODAY - I am watching what I eat, exercising and continuing to do my best at BEING my best! I'm by far not SKINNY but I am healthy and loving life!

What Works For ME:

1.) JUST GET UP AND MOVE! I don't need to plan out a routine. Throw a DVD in by Cathe Frediricks or grab my Bike and get out and ride it. I love just grabbing a garden tool and getting to work!

2.) Natural - Healthy Eating and cutting out those empty carbs. FOOD IS FUEL! I do enjoy some home cooked goodies sometimes as well ... but we all have to live!

3.) Drink Plenty of Water,Green Tea and remembering my vitamins. ( Drink at least 80 oz. a day!)

4.) Do something that makes a difference in someones life each day. My something special is sharing photos of my world with hopes of inspiring or just bringing some COLOR to a drab day!

I am a member of the SparksClass Feb.07! Spinning the Wheel, logging my water and chatting with new / old friends on the board is a fun way to get on track with health. This community is filled with wonderful people looking to better their life's by being healthy and helping others reach their goals.

When I first joined this community I had no idea how bad I was actually eating until I started using that nutrition tracker at this site. It was very emotional at that time to even THINK OF get on the scale. It wasn't until early 2008 I got serious about food and exercise choices I made. I realize I need to learn what my body really needs. I realized I have to make time FOR MYSELF and workout daily. I was introduced to CLEAN EATING at the 'Losin' the Weight in 2008' Board. In the first month I lost 15 pounds. During the late summer I gained some back - realizing I can not DIET! I have to change my lifestyle. Join me as blog my living healthy challenges and learning what works for me to be continue to be healthy.

Gardening and Healthy Living go hand in hand! Gardening occupies my mind most of the year and is my incentive and my motivation to get out and move! Daily garden chores like tilling, planting, weeding, and cultivating all get your heart pumping. Gardening by necessity is done outside and brings you closer to all forms of life, from the lowly earthworm to the friends dropping by for a handful of flowers. And there is little that is as life affirming as watching a tiny seed sprout, grow into a vibrant plant, and produce a good-for-you harvest.

Too MANY of my days of my life have been wasted with NEGATIVE thoughts of weight. I have never been a healthy weight for more then five years in my 38 years of life.
MY GOALS:

Stay focused on healthy living for myself and my family.

It may seem basic and simple but it is easy to lose sight of your goals. There will be days that I fail but I will rise to the occasion and get back on track.

**Treat your exercise routine no differently than an important appointment that you have to keep. If you incorporate it into your life (like brushing your teeth), it will become a part of your life for good!

FRUSTRATED WITH THE SCALE?
**Don't be a Scale Junkie: Stop focusing on numbers and start noticing how healthy you feel. Measure yourself each week.

    I having been keeping up with you in Facebook! Nice to hear from you.
    I have not been in my yard this last week, must get out and catch up!! My sister, from Missouri, came to visit for the week and we have been running around everyday taking pictures of beautiful Kansas!! It is so green this year. I will let you know when I get the pictures online!!
