Thanks for the comment on my blog about concerns with pesticides on fresh fruit & vegetables - and whether that is a reason to buy a baked good when you can't wash a fresh snack.
I know where you are coming from - this is a concern to me. When I buy snacks at the market, I try to wash them. Either spray them from my water bottle, ask the stall if they can rinse them (not in a supermarket - since service isn't their thing), or even go via a drinking fountain or clean public bathroom if I can. I must admit to occasionally eating them without washing.
Is this really bad? Given pollution levels in our cities that we can't avoid? And unknown ingredients in other foods that we subject ourselves to daily?
I suppose the solution is 'Always carry a water bottle!' What do you think? 1825 days ago
