Hi. My name's Beth. I'm looking for support to maintain my healthy lifestyle.
I have a physical disability (Cerebral Palsy) and also have been struggling with clinical depression since I was 16, but I try not to let my challenges get in the way of living a normal life. I am also the proud "Mama" of a Service Dog named Somerset ("Somer" for short). Her picture is in the gallery.
I hope to find support here, so feel free to add me as a Spark Friend and I will do what I can to support you, too.
Looking forward to getting to know you.
My Goals:
1. Stay positive even if I don't see results at the scale.
2. Keep myself accountable by tracking fitness on SparkPeople
3. Reward myself when I achieve my fitness goals. Favorite Rewards: DVDs, CDs, "ME" TIME!!!!!!
4. Allow for some flexibility within my food plan so I do not feel deprived.
Plan for Spring 2016
Goals:
Fitness: 1,000 Fitness minutes per month
(I track my fitness using a Fitbit Flex)
Nutrition: Track food daily.
(I track my food on Weight Watchers e-tools & the Spark People app).
Team: Connect with my buddies by posting on boards or fellow members' pages at least once a week.

My Goals:
Hmm.. my profile image fits my goals perfectly! I am in the process of "creating a new me". It's more than just weight loss in my case. I hope to have better self esteem, a more positive attitude, maybe even find the love of my life in the process.

My Program:
I have been a Weight Watchers "Lifetime Member" for 13 years. So I have reached my goal weight. Now I am just trying to maintain it. I do this with daily workouts & monitoring my calories/ counting points...well, most of the time.! No one's perfect. Please join me on my journey.

Beth, thank you for adding me as your emoticon That's the purpose, to encourage each other. I'm a survivor of two major depressions which painfully took away 8 years of my life (4 each). Treatment has done wonders in my case. Not that I ever be cured for good, but life is good.

    You have it in you

When you feel like quitting, that’s an opportunity to keep going. When you feel like giving up, you have it in you to step forward with renewed energy and to give more.

Giving up doesn’t accomplish anything, and it doesn’t make you feel any better. It just leaves you with disappointment and regret.

There’s a way to keep going, and you know it. There’s a way to keep going, and just imagine how great you will feel for choosing persistence.

If you’re weary, stop for a short while to rest, but don’t give up. Remind yourself of all the good reasons why you’ve chosen to move forward, and then get yourself going again.

If you wish to be free of the effort, then do what it takes to finish the effort. Make all your work count for something by bringing it to a successful conclusion.

The next step is right in front of you, and you have it in you to take that step. Keep going, fulfill your best possibilities, and you’ll always be thankful for your choice to do so.
