Time To Get Healthy & Energized!

*Update*
Still struggling with those last few pounds. The scale goes up but it also goes down...if I could just get it to stay down, lol. Turned 50 in March 2012 and I am thankful that I've lost a total of 65 lbs...25 before SP and 40 with SP. I would however love to add 10 to 15 more pounds to the lost total. Working on my relationship with food and my emotions so that my weight loss goal will happen.

My recent yearly physical was good with the best cholesterol ...

My recent yearly physical was good with the best cholesterol numbers I've had since my 20s. Thyroid needed some tweeking but overall me and my doc were thrilled :)

I'm keeping up with ST 3 to 4 x week. Tried running but may have to back down due to a recurring injury and get back to walking on a regular basis.

It's all good though and I'm glad to be here in Sparkland!

***Update***I met my original goal of losing 45 lbs on 12-14-10 and am now just below 150! I had doubts about getting this far and if you had told me I would do this a year ago I wouldn't have believed it. I've struggled with emotional eating, thyroid issues, insomnia, depression and was fast closing in on diabetes with a diagnosis of Metabolic syndrome. Add in GERD, sleep apnea, low back pain, and a left knee that gave out at times and the future did not look so bright.

Each of these areas has improved tremendously and I am feeling stronger, more energetic, am sleeping better and have much more confidence in myself. It hasn't always been easy but it is worth it. I'm worth it and so are you!

After reaching my original goal I now want to continue this journey and lose another 15 lbs so I can reach a healthy BMI for my frame. The weight loss ticker has been reset and I'm ready to go....wish me good health:)

My Goals:
Main goal: Lose 45 lbs by 12/10. Met on 12-14-10. Not bad :)

Smaller Goals:

Lose 10 lbs by March 2010. Goal met!

Lose 20 lbs by June 2010. I meant June 1st but met the goal on June 4th. I'll take it!

Lose 30 lbs by end of August 2010 Goal met early August!

Lose 40 lbs by the end of October 2010-did not meet yet but will soon :) Met 11-14-10


***New Goals***
Set Jan 2011
Hit 135 or 60lbs gone by April 2 2011. Not met but still plugging away :)

*Reset Goals 4/8/11 Jan-March I pretty much gained and lost the same 4 lbs but I'm going in the right direction now.

50 lbs gone by May 10th. Met end of June 2011

New goal starting September 7 with the BLC17 team: Hit 140 or 9lbs down in 12 weeks! Boo! I hit 144 but then back up to 15 lbs at the end :(

Goals for 2012:

June 1st: 149 lbs
Met 6-7-12

July 1st 145 lbs

My Program:
I am eating healthier than I ever have. I log my food in daily. That has been a big help in making healthy choices.

Exercise: Aerobics 5-6 x week
Strength training 2-3x week.

Logging in every day to Sparkpeople

Looking to step it up and become more active with others on the site.
