I have arrived! Retired. House in COLD north sold. Lifetime of "stuff" is distributed. Moved to fabulous Franklin TN. I have time,spirit, energy and drive.
I am at the time of my life when I can chose what I do. I can choose who and what is in my day. With the help of Spark and Spark friends, I am choosing a life of health, activity and happiness.

Good bye to grief and woes. Good bye to 12 hour days and unrelenting pressure in mental health counseling. The rest is what I make it, and I'm ready to make it fine.

Fitness Minutes: 16,997

My Goals:
I want to become the strongest and healthiest woman I can be.
My goal is to maintain vegetarian/vegan food plan and become a healthier weight.
I want to continue to enter races, I want to continue to enjoy physical exercise and be "nimble and quick" into my later years.


My Program:
1. Aerobic exercise 4 days per week - 40 minutes or more.
2. Strength training - alternating upper and lower body exercises - x4 weekly (2 days each)
3. Add a FUN activity like dance class weekly
4. Stay within nutritional guidelines from Spark
5. Build a streak on turning around a life time habit of eating before bedtime.
6. Increase gifts of time and money for humane treatment of all animals.
7. Increase meditation and prayer time daily.



Personal Information:
My roots are in Western Pennsylvania. I have lived in Japan, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Illinois. I'm a widow learning to fly solo. My best asset is a sense of humor. If I don't have a good laugh every day, I know I'm not trying hard enough to live well. I am an activist for healthier school lunch programs for children and for humane and compassionate care for all animals.

I've had affiliations with West Virginia University. University of Pittsburgh, Aurora University and Bradley University.

    You mention on this page that you are learning to live w/o pets. That makes me sad because it must be lonely for you as a widow. Pets have so much to offer! Have you considered a trying a dog that has hair rather than fur? I have friends who are very allergic to animals, they now have a maltese and have no allergy problems. You could possibly visit a friend who has a dog with hair to see how you react. A bashon frishe is a good choice because they are a more calm breed, very good natured. I love my Lhaso Apso! But some of them aren't friendly with people outside their family. Mine is good because we always have lots of people in and out of our house. She LOVES all the attention she can get! It's something to consider, anyway, if having a pet would be a comfort to you. I also suffer from allergies and asthma.

    Hello There: Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my blog! I guess many of us go through the same dilemmas regarding weight loss. Sometimes we need to get fed up and actually change the routines that no longer work. You have a done an amazing job with your weight loss! Way to go!!! Please do not listen to those that do not appreciate the hard work you had to do to get where you are today. You know yourself and what you need to do to become healthy. Hang in there.
