I've been at this a loooong time but 2013 is definitely going to be the year I get to goal and learn to stay there. Last year I finally broke through the 160 pound barrier and I am really proud of that. Now I need to take that 150 lb gorilla down. The key I think is to really fall in love with making healthy choices and I'm basing my whole plan on that. I loved everything I worked on last year (see all my 12 in 12 posts) and plan to continue them, but the overriding theme will be HEALTHY ...

And so I keep on plugging because ... I'd like the body to match the smile on my face. Next time I get my photo taken at the beach I want things to be better.

My Goals:
Long Term “intentions”, edition V

1. I'm going to reach my goal in March of 2013.

2. I am excited about strength training and can't wait till I'm able to do 25 push ups and 5 pull-ups.

3. I am grinning at just the thought of having a BMI of 25 by March 5, 2013

4. I always give myself enough time to completely eat my food – that means savoring it's scent and sight, tasting every bite and pausing every few bites to see if I've, maybe, had enough.

5. I love water and always drink enough

6. I'm having a wonderful time growing into a fitter stronger me

My Program:
Still workin' it out but:

1. Start a personal spark streak of making every day a HEALTHY CHOICE day. Ask myself "is this a healthy choice?" at each meal or each time I decide to sit down.

2. Follow the Weight Watcher Program and attend meetings

3. track track track what I eat - any way I can, every day

4. Drink enough water - 4-6 glasses a day

5. Eat mostly vegan meals - they're delicious!

6. Plan my meals for an entire week

7. Keep active every day - and do formal exercise 4 or more days each week

Thanks for your lovely comment to my blog! I remember a day when I was jealous of folks who worked in schools too....then I started there...and had no paycheck all summer--that took a while to adjust to (I'm not faculty--I'm support staff, so I'm hourly and no summer pay). It took me a few years to figure out the math--but I eventually developed a plan where my money stretches all the way through, and I can truly enjoy my summer break.
My boyfriend is tilling up my garden today--as it's his day off (he works 10 hour days M-Th all summer and has Friday's off.
Can't wait!!
Michelle

"If I had to select one quality, one personal characteristic that I regard as being most highly correlated with success, whatever the field, I would pick the trait of persistence. Determination.
The will to endure to the end, to get knocked down seventy times and get up off the floor saying. "Here comes number seventy-one!"

Thank you for the beautiful red shoes. I really 'ought' to buy some more shoes, I need more variety than I have. : )
