Back to my lowest weight

In 2002 I weighed 278 and had bariatric surgery. I lost to 135, had all the surgeries to take off all the extra skin, except my arms and neck. I since then became a personal trainer and work in a YMCA. I teach 2 classes two times a week, and have about 20 appts. a week with clients. I love it. My weight has crept up though, to 165 and I want to get it under control before it gets out of hand again. The dietician told me once I reached my lowest weight I would gain back 15 to 20 lbs. I did that ...

I did that and stayed there a long time but I am just scared to let it be. I have run/walked 6 half marathons and 1 full marathon. I am training for more this year.

I hate that you did not know that many sparkers were running the Mardi Gras race! We are now planning to meet up in Miami - Jan 30, 2011. There in a thread on the forum about this. Join us if you can.

You asked if I use agave or artificial sweeteners in my sugar-free streak. I don't because I don't like the taste of either. I also try to eat clean, most of the time, so it's another reason why I wouldn't want to use artificial sweeteners. I've decided I want to give myself the gift of being healthy over the holidays so that's why I've chosen to do a sugar free streak right now.

The battle is at a team called 8 Week Battle #6. They have sign ups, then just before the battle start date the team goes private for those 8 weeks. When that time is up, there is usually about a 2 week break, then a new battle begins.

Thanks for your message. I didn't see it until just now. People on the sugar free or darn close to it team have different goals. Most, but not all, avoid artificial sweeteners too. I'm not 100% sugar-free yet, but some are that are on the team. I used to not eat breads with sugar in them, but don't worry about that so much any more because I read that the yeast uses up the sugar win the rising process (not sure if that's true). I don't eat HFCS and neither do most of the people on the team. It's a good team and the members are becoming more active. I have found that tracking "servings" of sugar have helped me to understand much better what are triggers for me for eating sugar.

Congratulations on your weight loss and keeping it off. You are doing great! I'd be honored to be Spark Friends with you!
