Retired and Loving It!

I've been married for 18 years to a wonderful guy. We have a 16 year old daughter. My husband has been retired for 8 years and I retired almost three years ago. I fill my days with several hobbies: bowling, reading, cycling, walking, exercising, cooking and eating!! I also love theatre and movies. I also volunteer with AARP doing income taxes from February through April each year, as well as other weekly voluneering.

The scale can be your enemy. You get up in the morning and step onto the scale. (You always weigh yourself in the morning because that way you haven't had a chance to eat in seven or eight hours.) One of three things has happened: you've gained weight, you've lost weight, or you've stayed the same. If you've lost weight, you're ahead of the game and can afford to cheat a little. BUT CAN YOU REALLY... IS THIS WHAT YOU REALLY WANT? If you've gained weight, you may feel angry or depressed, especially if you were "good" yesterday. SO WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO TODAY TO CHANGE YOUR NUMBERS TOMORROW? And if you stayed the same, it looks as if you have been given free reign to do nothing. ARE YOU GOING TO SIT THERE AND DO NOTHING?

What are you willing to do TODAY to make the scale move in the direction you want it to move consistently for the next week?
