Healthy Maturity

In October of 2009 with my wife Susie's help and encouragement we started on a lifestyle change that has led to the two of us loosing a total of almost 140 lbs. I started at 274 and now weigh 202. The process has included elimination of processed foods, and a big increase in physical actifity. I ran my first 5K in October 2010, and regularly walk/run a minimum of 25 miles per week.

My Goals:
To live a healthy mature life. We have been blessed with many happy, healthy and active grandchildren, who love to play with Grandpa and Grandma. We enjoy many very physical activites with them and their parents, and being able to do these things is very important to me.
I do not want to live forever, just to be able to live every day I'm alive.

My Program:
We eat practically no processed food. We garden, and during much of the year are able to have a lot of fresh produce from our own yard. We have greatly increased the amount of whole grains we eat, as well as increasing the amount of beans in our diet. The trinity roots are a big part of our daily food preparation.
