RESET1: I did well until the end of June 2013, then life got tough and I lost control. I put 9pounds back on, but according to my motto I am back starting January 2014! It took me almost a year to get back to 132 pounds on November 14. 2014. Yay!

RESET 2: Ah well... got there and lost it again. It is now May 1 2015 and I have to acknowledge that I put 5 pounds back on. At least I reacted faster this time. Let's get that fat off the belly for a third time!

My Program:
FITNESS:
exercise/week: 350min.
1. running:
- 2 half marathons:
one with my sister on July 4th (done); one alone on October 4th (+- 2h05min)
- for shorter races approach a 5min per kilometer (8min mile)

2. strength training:
- 3 times a week for at least 10 minutes.

3. Stretching and Yoga:
-Stretching: always after exercising
- yoga: once a week
- Foam roller: 2-3 times a week

Challenges:
- try out rock climbing (done)
- try out skiing
- hike in the Rockies

NUTRITION: 2000cal/day 50%carb,25%fat&25%pro

breakfast 400cal
Lunch 600cal
Dinner 600cal
Snacks 400cal

-Eat fresh produce and prepare food to take away
- Watch my emotional eating
-track food every other day
-Post my weight once a week as status.

No competitions in the near future...I'm exploring new ways to stay in shape...actually, I'm redefining what staying in shape means.

I really enjoy kettlebells and sandbags. Lifting and moving irregular shaped objects is so much different than lifting weights up and down with a barbell. I really enjoy the functional strength I've gained, as well as a super strong and flexible core. My back and shoulders feel totally different with this new training. There is something totally different about lifting these odd objects and carrying them for distance.

So for now, I am, as always, competing with myself...

emoticon Barbara, so sorry to confuse you with my blog...You see a summer day with a bit of brisk breeze; clouds skidding across the sky; temperatures going from very cool in the morning to a gentle warm, but definitely not hot or humid; and lots of rural aromas....that was called "a Genesee Day" in my family of origin, because that kind of weather often happened when we visited my great aunt's artist's studio in Genesee Depot, Wisconsin. Summer muggy, hazy days interrupted by one of these "Genesee Days" is a real gift no matter where it occurs! Once we experienced one in Ukraine...and once in Germany. Hope that explains it a bit better.... emoticon
