When I began this adventure around February 1st 2010, I weighed 252 pounds and felt awful. I didn't like my body, myself, or my life. Many things both good and bad have happened since then: I got engaged, I lost over 30 pounds, and my grandmother passed away. I gained a little weight back, I moved, I started a graduate program. Have you ever taken one of those "Are you stressed questionnaires?" Let's just say I was answering yes a lot! Things have begun to settle down for me though. The one year MAT program is intense to say the least, but academic stress is easy. It's life stress that has me elbow deep in a bag of chips.

Anyway, after gaining 6 pounds I had proof of what I knew was true - I need to get back on track. And that is where I am right now, trying to get back on track. I'm doing the South Beach Diet in order to kick some of my cravings to the curb, and I'm trying to get myself to the gym with more or less success. I know I will lose the weight because I'm willing to fight to do it, but it takes time, patience, and baby steps. I can't do everything all at once or I'll fall flat on my face.

I'm back to the basics for now!

I am trying out the South Beach Diet as a way to jumpstart my healthy eating.

I am trying to exercise at the gym 3-4 times a week.

I am trying to drink 8 glasses of water daily.

Personal Information:
I live with my fiancÚ, Damian, and our cat, Nice Guy on the second floor of his parents house.

I love to read and write, especially fantasy.

I am currently studying to receiving my Master in the Arts of Teaching degree in order to become an English teacher.
