2015! A Year To Be Healthy, Happy & Prosperous!

Hello & Welcome! I'm a big fan of Sparkpeople and recently celebrated my seventh year of living a more healthy lifestyle. I have lost 22 pounds since becoming a Sparker, but 5 pounds are playing yo-yo with me, as I lose them and they find their way back. My goal is to lose 20 more pounds and keep them off. I am much more active and feel so much better since joining Spark.

I have lost 22 pounds since becoming a Sparker, but 5 pounds are playing yo-yo with me, as I lose them and they find their way back. My goal is to lose 20 more pounds and keep them off. I am much more active and feel so much better since joining Spark.

I am a 68 year old baby boomer born, raised, and currently living in the "Show-Me State of Missouri", after a twenty year journey as a military wife. I am currently employed full time in the field of rental property management and love being active each day.

I am a proud mother & grandmother. My daughter and granddaughter who live just a few miles from me, a son and a Daughter In Law that resides in Arkansas with her two grown sons. I am further blessed with a guardian angel son who left us much too early, but will be in my heart forever.

This quote strongly resonates with me. Every instant of our lives is filled with choice. The better we understand ourselves, the more likely we are to make better choices.

My Goals:
Summer 2015 5% Challenge Exercise Commitment:
Do my Spark strength exercises each a.m. before work.
Go to gym and use treadmill & bike 3 days per week.
Use the nutrition & fitness trackers daily.

Nutrition Commitment:
Spark Diet..concentrating on fruits, veggies and whole grains. Staying within the recommended limits of nutrition per the Spark Tracker especially for sodium.

My Program:
1. Drink 8 glasses of water per day.
2. Minimum of 6 fruits and vegetables per day.
3. Practice portion control-Stay within calorie ranges.
4. No Excuses! Do your Daily Exercises.
5. Stay Mindful and in control during evening hours.
6. Use Spark nutrition & fitness tracker each day.

Personal Information:
I like to play Bunco and currently play a couple nights a month with a fantastic group of ladies. I also enjoy our town's Theater and concerts in the Park series during the Summer months. Bowling on a ladies league is a fall/winter activity. I love crossword puzzles as well as playing games on the computer and putting jigsaw puzzles together.

Other Information:
I try to check in with Sparkpeople daily as it keeps me motivated and I enjoy visiting with my Sparkfriends and participating in the challenges that keep me on track. Recently joined our local Lion's Club and enjoy helping the children & adults with their seeing and hearing needs.

Here are some special emoticon to get you through the day. Always remember you are not alone. This journey is long and slow, if we are going to do it successfully and healthy! It is a lifestyle change and not a diet. And it's OK to lose the UMPH to get MOVIN' again and be on the right track.
