2016! A Year To Be More Healthy!

Hello & Welcome! I'm a big fan of Sparkpeople and recently celebrated my ninth year of living a more healthy lifestyle. I have lost 17 pounds but just recently regained 6 of those pounds. My current goal is to lose 40 pounds and keep them off. I am much more active and feel so much better since joining Spark and feel that the 5% challenges have helped me be where I am today.

My current goal is to lose 40 pounds and keep them off. I am much more active and feel so much better since joining Spark and feel that the 5% challenges have helped me be where I am today.

I am a 69 year old baby boomer born, raised, and currently living in the "Show-Me State of Missouri", after a twenty year journey as a military wife. I am currently employed in the field of rental property management and love being active each day.

I am a proud mother & grandmother. My daughter lives just a few miles from me, a granddaughter who will soon complete her freshman year of college in Troy, Alabama. A son and his family that reside in Arkansas, one grandson that recently made me a great grandmother. I am further blessed with a guardian angel son who left us much too early, but will be in our hearts forever.

I love motivational quotes and Sparkpeople have several that I enjoy and try to implement in my daily life.

My Goals:
Spring 2015 5% Challenge Exercise Commitment:
Do my strength/flexibility exercises each a.m.
Cardio 3X week, bowling, walking, treadmill & bike.
Use the nutrition & fitness trackers daily.
Nutrition Commitment:
Spark Diet..concentrating on fruits, veggies and whole grains. Staying within the recommended calorie range, making an extra effort to drink my 8 glasses of water daily.

My Program:
1. Stay mindful and in control of night time eating.
2. Do not be a couch potato! Stay Active. No excuses-Do your daily exercises.
3. Portion Control. Use smaller dishes. Wait 20 minutes to see if you are still hungry.
4. Wear the Garmin daily and reach your goal of 6000 steps.

Personal Information:
I enjoy the meetings and activities with my single's church group.
I like to play Bunco and play a couple nights a month with a fun loving people.
Bowling on a ladies league is a fall/winter activity.
I recently joined the local Lion's Club and enjoy the activities and good deeds that we do.
Also recently joined a group of friends for a monthly wine tasking events at our local grocery store.

Other Information:
I try to check in with Sparkpeople daily as it keeps me motivated and I enjoy visiting with my Sparkfriends and participating in the challenges that keep me on track.

I enjoyed reading about you! A cruise in June sounds fabulous! I hope you have the best time! Monthly wine tastings sound pretty nice too hehe. =o) We have 3 Wine Festivals here each year, and I love going to those.
