Greetings All-
So this is the year that I am putting myself first. I have decided that, for me to lose a significant amount of weight I need the tool of Gastric Bypass. While this is a powerful tool to have at one's disposal, I know in many ways this will be a more difficult path toward my goals. At this weight though, I need to make drastic changes so I may retain good health.

In addition to the gastric bypass February 19th, I am starting therapy with a psychologist ...
Greetings All-
So this is the year that I am putting myself first. I have decided that, for me to lose a significant amount of weight I need the tool of Gastric Bypass. While this is a powerful tool to have at one's disposal, I know in many ways this will be a more difficult path toward my goals. At this weight though, I need to make drastic changes so I may retain good health.

In addition to the gastric bypass February 19th, I am starting therapy with a psychologist specializing in eating disorders. I have to really understand the reasons that are behind my eating and different ways to deal with those emotions.

On a fun note, I have scared myself yet again into exercise by signing up for a belly dance workshop in Texas this August; Yaa Halla, Y'all 2013. My girl Aziza will be teaching a drum solo workshop with Issam!

My reasons for wanting to lose weight:
To feel comfortable in my own skin again
To sleep comfortably
To not be self conscious of every move I make
To keep up with the kiddos!
To be alive to see my kids grow up
To dance and not have my weight constantly in the back of my mind
For my own inner peace
To wear great clothing again!
To improve my intimate life with my husband.

My Goals:
LONG TERM:
I want to feel comfortable in my my skin and be as healthy as I can possibly be.
SHORT TERM:
I want to stay fast food free and eat more whole foods.

My Program:
I am approaching each day as a fresh start. I am eating for health instead of just for a short term high that will make me feel disgusting & bloated. I am making sure to exercise at least 5 times per week.

Animals are a big part of our life. I have 5 cats and although on temporary hiatus, I have ridden horses since I was ten.



Other Information:
I used to be a bookstore manager so I would much rather read that exercise. I am currently working for a fantastic company that is very supportive of my weight loss goals. I have a multitude of cats a husband and 2 great kids under 5! I love to bellydance!

Happy Sunday. Hope you're summer is going great. Are you still on track to do all you can today to reach your goals tomorrow? If so, great! If not, what can you change today that will help you feel accomplished? One little thing. Drink more water? Cut out soda? Go for a walk? Small changes add up.

I have a friend who does the native Indian dance (belly dancing). She really enjoys it and it is quite a workout! Hope you enjoy the class/workshop!
