Getting lean at 63!

My profile picture was taken in 2008 on a beautiful November day in Florence, Italy.

I turned 63 in December, 2012. My goal is to be more motivated in my 64th year to finally reach my fitness goals. I am tired of losing and gaining the SAME 5 pounds!

No weird diet foods for me - I eat real food in controlled portions. You can check out what we actually eat at inthekitchenwithkath.com .

Update: As of February 27, 2013, those 5 pounds are gone and then ...

I chose a turtle for my ticker for a reason. Slow, but steady, wins the race! I'm losing at the rate of about 1/2 pound a week. It's working!

Moral: Age is no excuse!

Thanks for your comment, Jusfolk! Yes, I'm expecting the last few pounds to be the hardest. I will be happy with losing 1/2 pound a week. If it takes awhile, so be it. I have reached the point where I'm enjoying the journey.

Thank you for putting on a (goodie) party for me for reaching my goal! These last pounds have been very hard to get off, but I am thanking God that it has happened. Just been following the First Place 4 Health program, which includes a well-rounded eating plan (and a lot of saying "no" to indulgences).

Best wishes to you as you move forward to your goal. I began my journey at 162 pounds:)
