Hi there! My name is Meaghan! I've tried SparkPeople before and sort of lost interest/got lazy and stopped tracking my food intake and exercise. But here I am, back at it again.

I've been gone for 9 months traveling around Canada with a volunteer group, and since then I've lost weight and became vegetarian. However, since being home and unemployed, I've picked up the habit of boredom eating again, so I've gained a few pounds back! I would really like to lose weight because I feel it will help me enjoy life a lot more. I won't have to stay away from things I love because I'm afraid of what people will think. For a girl who could live on the beach and in the water if she could, my current situation is not ideal in the least!

I'm a very spiritual, level-headed person who believes in metaphysics and energies. Part of getting closer to the earth and our roots for me is to eat more naturally... food that isn't processed, local foods, etc, and not overindulging... eating what I need, when I need it, and not more. I want to cut unatural sugars out of my diet as much as possible and eat raw vegetables and lots of fruit. I'd love to become vegan some day, but for now I'm vegetarian and taking it slow! Part of having a peaceful mindset is having control over your body, because then you are more easily able to control your mind.

I would love to find a dedicated buddy to be my help and motivation, and so I can be theirs as well.
