Hi to all......My name is Barbara and I made a vow to make my goal in September 2017. I am including HIM in all that I say and do!! I will keep positive thoughts ONLY in my mind and speak them out loud!! Keep it moving everyday, think positive thoughts...there's no room for beating up on your self and getting all negative either!! BELIEVE that YOU CAN DO IT!!! It really does start in your head!! Please join me...I will encourage you...if you can take a few minutes to encourage me...we can do it together!!

Fitness Minutes: 127,936

My Goals:
1. Exercise daily......at least 20 minutes.

2. Keep where I'm at or lose a little more....no more than 5# though!

3. Eat sitting down ONLY!

4. Talk out loud.....to myself (when I'm alone) POSITIVE WORDS ONLY.

5. Continue to remind myself that I AM WORTH IT!

6. Drinking 8 cups of water.....at least daily.

7. Keep and HONEST food journal...daily!!


My Program:
I am using an Ap on my phone...called Lose it!! You can document weight lost, set goals, enter foods eaten! Get support!! I also love getting support from Spark friends!!








Personal Information:
I am married....going on 39 years in April to a great guy, have two wonderful adult kids.

We also have a little black cat, named Bella, who is just a little joy to me.


I have had some back/calf problems since 08, had the spinal decompression, but then fell so I still am having problems, but not as severe and find Yoga and deep, slow stretches really help a lot. Also I think REMOVING the last 22# has helped, unless I overdo it with housework, bending, moving furniture!!

I firmly believe in the Lord.....He is a huge part in my life; don't know where I would be if I couldn't talk to Him daily; I really lean on Him!! He is my strength, especially in tough times!!

I teach RE (religious education)...2nd graders 1x weekly and I absolutely love the little ones; they are such little sponges!!

I am also in the Red Hat Society and was asked two years ago to join the Royal Board, which I am happy to be a part of!!


Other Information:
I love to watch romantic comedies and health shows, like the Dr. Oz show...tape it if I can't watch it, read mostly self help books, enjoy watching/listening to Joyce Meyer......a real down to earth preacher. I usally do my step aerobics or deep stretches for my back while she is on tv.

    Great job on the weight loss! I have not had a body comp since the end of May. I'm not sure how I am doing. I have a new app for tracking food that also tracks mood and other eating disorder factors. I am finding it very helpful but I cannot abandon Spark since it is very helpful in many ways. I am trying to follow the advice of my eating disorder counselor. There is also a book out from Lysa Terkheurst who is president of Proverbs 31 Ministries. It is called,"Made to Crave". And it is about how we crave food and other things instead of craving the relationship with God that we so need and that He so desires to have with us. My counselor suggested this book and I had read some of it before. She is also a Christian which helps quite a bit. So, I have been gathering the workbooks and DVDs and devotional plans etc. I almost have everything and also there is a lot on YouTube because Lysa did workshops and a online bible study through Proverbs 31 ministries which was very involved! So, I am getting geared up for that program as well. I am trying to make healthy choices and am beginning to do the fibromyalgia PT exercises that were recommended to me. I am still in PT for the shoulders and will go to aquatherapy for the fibromyalgia after I am done with the shoulders. The new rheumatologist was very clear that I must keep in motion. I need to strengthen the legs so I can walk more as well. Ah, a complicated thing but I know with God's leading, all will work out well. I am so glad to have the support of my good Spark Friends and our group as well. Thank you for adding to my support system and for all you do in leading the team.
