I found a mantra, or positive affirmation! It works like this: whenever things are tough around you you do 2 things: 1. take a deep breath, a big inhale and then a big exhale 2. Say this (out loud or just in your head): : I am at peace with my own feelings. I am safe where I am. I create my own security and I love and approve of myself.
When you say these things actually imagine what you are saying. For example when you say the part "I am safe where I am" imagine that indeed you are safe, nothing is there to hurt you, you're not in real danger. You can repeat it as many times as you want, even tens or even hundreds of times a day if needed. The situations when it helps: when you would turn to food for comfort, when you would eat unhealthy food or too much food, when you are stressed, when you are worried, when you are tired.
