Ditching the excuses! Looking forward to the results!

I have been on and off this crazy diet rollercoaster and realized DIETS DON'T WORK! It has gotta be a life change... LIFE (yeah there is always stuff and always something...work around it) CHANGE (insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results, ya gotta make a change)!!!

So that is where I am...I can't wait to see where I am going!

I eat when I am bored or sad, I have a million excuses for why I can't do it and I am done!

Other Information:
I have a wonderful supportive girlfriend who loves me no matter what and puts up with all my crazy fad health kicks. She really is a keeper. I have a crazy stressful job that I love as a case manager for a house of developmentally disable adults. It challenges me in new ways every day, drives me nuts, stresses me out to the point of tears and I couldn't dream of a more rewarding and fulfilling job. In my free time I love to be outside, I love reading and listening to music, I dabble in crafts of all kinds. I am a free spirit, loud mouthed, Italian girly girl.

I found a mantra, or positive affirmation! It works like this: whenever things are tough around you you do 2 things:
1. take a deep breath, a big inhale and then a big exhale
2. Say this (out loud or just in your head): : I am at peace with my own feelings. I am safe where I am. I create my own security and I love and approve of myself.

When you say these things actually imagine what you are saying. For example when you say the part "I am safe where I am" imagine that indeed you are safe, nothing is there to hurt you, you're not in real danger.
You can repeat it as many times as you want, even tens or even hundreds of times a day if needed.
The situations when it helps: when you would turn to food for comfort, when you would eat unhealthy food or too much food, when you are stressed, when you are worried, when you are tired.
