i'm doing this for weight loss, but i'm also here to learn healthier habits. i want to change the way i think and act about food/exercise. i want to be a healthier ME!

i moved to the amazing city of new york almost 2 years ago. since then, i've gained 15 pounds. i've heard a lot of stories of people losing weight in nyc, because the easiest way to get around is to walk. but what they don't mention is there are also thousands of places to eat! i think this is what got me. i am used to buying lunch every day at work, which is not only bad for my waistline, but also bad for my wallet! i am trying to get in the habit of making my own lunches from home, and finding healthy alternatives. i'm also putting that gym membership to work. it's a challenge waking up earlier in the morning to get my gym time in, but i say... bring it!!

i want to get my body back into the shape it was in college. though this time i want to be stronger. i CAN do this...

- monitor what i eat and how much i put into my body
- incorporate fruits and veggies every day
- gym 3-5x a week
- walk to/from work when the weather permits
- be strong enough to run a 5k!

i'm in my early 20s. i currently live on my own in nyc. i work a 9-5 which is more like a 9-9. i strive to find the proper balance of work/play. and i try to take in all this city has to offer. but i also love to spend the day in bed watching movies :)
