Hi, my name is Bekka. I have been married for ten years (been with my husband for 15 though), I have a 7 year old little girl, Gabriella Kendall (she goes by Ella) and a one year old baby boy- Deagan Kendrick who has stolen my heart. They are my entire world, I live and breathe them every second!

UPDATE:
I thought I should update here after an incredible year on SP :) I have lost over 100lbs!! My life is completely different and I am living in a wonderful dream world now :) I am shocked that I have done this, it hasnt sunk in yet...but IF I CAN DO IT, YOU CAN DO IT! I have never liked 'healthy' food, I hate to break a sweat...and I DID IT!!!! Here's to 2010 and at least 40 more lbs gone :) I love my Sparklers and DONE GIRLS..you know who you are and I can't do this without you!!! I have been given SO
much love and support through Sparkpeople and not only is this the year I hope to get close to my goal weight, it is also my year to PAY IT FORWARD! Email me if you need some help, advice, motivation, support, or friendship! I am here to help you, like everyone has helped me!!

My Program:
Eat proper portions(measure everything) and journal them on SP everyday. (1100-1200 calories per day)

Make better choices to fit within those calories

Cardio 5-6 times a week for a minimum of 45 minutes (goal of 300 minutes a week)

Hey hon!! Congratulations (again) on your 1/2 marathon. I have no doubt it was sooooo hard and I am so proud of you. You had the courage and the motivation to actually go through with it and most people would not! I would be crying like a baby from 3.1-13.1 miles so great job that you waited until the finish line! It just proves how strong you really are!

Let me know how you are doing so far this week and I will start checking out your tracker again starting next week!!

I have a new strategy: this week I am trying to have a deficit of 500 calories Mon-Thu (so 2000 calories) and on Fri-Sat (when we usually eat out and drink wine with dinner) I am trying to break even (which means I can eat what I want BUT I have to move more to burn at least as many calories as I am eating).

Next week I will try increasing it to a deficit of 2450 and then I will have the hang of things! I am doing better at 1500-1600 calories and trying to think like a thin person!

I am good, but have been crazy busy. Had my daughter's room repainted teal (she picked the color) since she will be living at home starting this summer for grad school. Not a color I would have picked, but she likes it. She had a ton of junk that I had to move out of the room so they could paint (and put most, but not all back). Need to get white curtains to soften the teal a bit. Fixed up the basement a bit too, in anticipation of both kids bringing home all of their stuff from college, and to make it nicer so Michelle will be able to do homework down there. It really needed a good cleaning. We only clean the basement a couple times a year (it's not used often and doesn't seem to get much dust), but I paid my cleaning lady to do it this time so it was more thorough. Also, trying to get graduation activities settled. There are about 7 things to attend over the grad weekend!!! That's a bit much. Went out with 2 different sets of friends over the weekend which was a lot of fun. Paid bills, visited our moms, did some returns at the mall...lol. Endless list. Did not exercise since Saturday cause I've been wheezing so much from the paint smell! The painter was supposed to use low-odor paint and didn't :( Will go on elliptical tomorrow before hosting mahjongg here.

I get such a kick out of reading about little Deagan's antics on fb! Boys are just so funny and VERY different from girls :) So sweet though!!!

Oh my, I am so sorry to hear about your back. I kinda figured it was bad when you told me he wanted you to bring in your hubby. And it's crushing your thyroid which would explain so much. I hope and pray he can give you some relief w/o surgery. I know I am all the way in PA and you are in MI but if there is anything I can do let me know. I will pray for you. Let me know how you are doing otherwise and know that I am thinking of you.

I was thinking about the calories thing and it does make sense to cut servings in half...that is obviously how the skinny people do it. They still eat, but just in smaller quantities. If I do it gradually and implement it with some behavioral changes, I know I will be OK. Like this week I started eating half my lunch at lunchtime and the other half in the late afternoon so I eliminate my afternoon snack. I force myself to walk away after 1/2 my lunch and take a walk or doing something else active.

Hey! Lemme know what the Chiro. says and let me know how do in your marathon! Trying for 1600 calories is so hard - I do not know how you do 1200!!! I am still plugging along - nothing really new to report :)
