Hi everyone. I'm looking to lose some weight for several reasons. One - I have high blood pressure and weight has an effect on that; Two - I have no cartilage in my left knee and don't want to have a knee replacement; Three - I want to feel better about myself and fit into some of my old cute clothes. :)

Currently for exercise I am walking 2.5 to 5 miles per day. My "Little Sky" goes with me when I walk. On a day when I have to work, I only get in the 2.5 miles. On the days when I don't, Sky & I walk to the lock so he can go swimming and then we come back. On the days when its rainy and I can't be outside, I read a book while on my gazelle glider. If I can ever get my elliptical machine working again, it would be great. It was such a good workout.

Update 5/7/09 - Starting this spring, my little red nosed pit bull "Cocoa" is the one that goes on the walks with me every day. I have found that her temperament is better when I get home from work if I have tired her out in the morning. Unless it is raining hard or I am really short on time, we walk 4.75 miles on the weekdays. On the weekends, or other days that I am not working, we walk a little extra and get in about a half mile more.

I always take a water bottle for Cocoa, but the little diva won't drink out of it. She prefers drinking out of streams and the lake.

I am going to try and take Sky for walks after I get home from work (if I have the energy). He will need the exercise too.

I want to make exercise a regular part of my daily routine. I think I am almost there..... I am so tired when I don't have the chance to workout to start my day.

I am trying to cut out soda. I am doing fairly well at that. There is soda in the house, but I pretty much only drink it when I go out to eat.

    i saw your post on healty junk can always fry your food in olive oil or coconut oil.coconut oil is very good for your health.go on the web and punch in benifets of coconut oil and you will see how god it is but you need to buy it from a health food store you are doing great on weigth loss be proud of your self emoticon
