Care for others but do not be careless for Yourself. Love others but do not be hateful about Yourself. Respect others but do not be disrespectful towards Yourself. Value others but do not devalue Yourself. Have faith in others but also trust Yourself. I am a wife, a mother, and a Zumba lover! I have made it my life's mission to live a healthier and happier lifestyle for me and my family. It isn't always easy to be positive, but I have made it a priority to change the way I look at life. Happiness is a choice, and I choose optimism over pessimism. Everyday I am getting stronger. I am feeling better now, both physically and emotionally, than I have ever felt in my life. As I continue on, reaching goals, I know that those feelings will become stronger. Hopefully I will inspire those I love and make them as proud of me as I am of myself! Decisions: D - Decide on an action plan. E - Every thing is possible if you believe and work at it. C - Consider your choices carefully. I - Invite others to join you on you quest to become healthy. S - Savor the feeling of each victory, big or small. I - Invaluable lessons sometimes hurt, but are necessary for growth. O - Optimism over pessimism, N - Never quit trying or you will fail. S - Say to yourself every day, "I AM WORTH IT!" because you are." (Author Unknown

My Goals:
My goal is to lose weight (73 lbs) while changing my lifestyle. Diets definitely don't work. You have to commit to changing your lifestyle. I have a large family, and the best thing I can do for them and myself is to change my attitude toward food and exercise to be a positive role model. My first goal was to get under 200 pounds by the end of February. I reached my first goal on March 1st by finally getting to ONEderland (yay!). My goal for the end of March is to lose 10 pounds. I have no doubt that I will be successful in achieving this goal!
My Program:
I have been using the food and exercise tracker to keep me on track. I also use positive words of encouragement that are posted everywhere in the house in the form of post-it notes. I also find tremendous encouragement from everyone on SP through stories of highs and lows, successes and setbacks, and realizing how amazing and courageous others are in sharing with such honesty. God Bless all of you!
Other Information:
I have been doing a lot of reading lately. My favorite is Operation Beautiful, the reason why I found SparkPeople. It has changed my life. I am also reading other self-help books to educate my mind. I want to get back to my bachelor's program at University of Phoenix, where I major in psychology. I had to take time off because of my almost nervous breakdown. I will persevere and get my degree.
