I'm a 38-year old stay-at-home Mom to a 4-year old daughter. Once upon a time I was able to run 8 miles a day, followed by 300 sit-ups and push-ups. Once I turned 30, my metabolism hit the floor. I have been struggling with my weight ever since.

I'm a foodie - I love good food. I enjoy gourmet food and home cooking. Frankly, I'm not willing to give anything up permanently. Therefore, surgery and radical diets are out.

I've tried everything: Adkins (twice), Weight Watchers (twice), Jenny Craig (twice), Phen-Fen, straight Phentermine, starvation, and Opti-Fast (the liquid diet). I was able to quickly drop between 20 and 65 pounds each time, but then I gained it all back and more.

This is my FINAL weight loss journey simply because I refuse to "diet" anymore. I have changed my entire lifestyle and nutrition to something that I can stick to and maintain.

I am 5'11" tall. At my peak of health, I wore a size 9-10/Medium. At my worst, I was 280 pounds and a size 26. I begin this journey at 255 pounds. I wear a size 22 pants and an 18/20 shirt.

Here are the things that I hope to accomplish:

1. Fit into an airplane seat comfortably without having to wedge into it.

2. Go to an amusement park with my daughter and be able to ride anything without fear that I won't be able to fit into the ride. That is SO embarassing!

3. Actually be IN this year's Christmas card photo. I only send out pictures of my daughter because I am so ashamed of the way I look. Posting my photos and stats on this site was a BIG move for me!

4. Be able to buy clothes somewhere other than Lane Bryant. They have cute clothes and all, but they are expensive and they are fat clothes. I want to buy something off the rack at Old Navy or Gap.

5. Make my daughter proud of me. She is at the age where kids are beginning to be cruel and I don't want her to have to endure other kids telling her that her Mommy is fat.

6. Make my husband proud. He works so, so hard to support us and allow me to be at home with my daughter. He deserves to go to a business function with a "trophy wife" on his arm! I want to turn his head like I did when we first met.

My Goals:
I want to lose 75 pounds by the end of the year. This would put me at 180. After that, I may decide to go down another 5 or 10 pounds, but I want to see how I look at my initial goal weight first.

My Program:
Diet modification and excercise. I work out at least 6 times a week and stick to a diet that I can live with. For me, it's lots of lean meats/proteins, vegetables and fruits. I do have whole grain carbs, but in moderation. I drink lots of water and abstain from alcohol.

Personal Information:
Starting BMI - 36.6
Starting Body Fat - 42.1%
