I'm a 30 year old mom of two. I was recently diagnosed as heterozygous factor v leiden, and with the increased risk of clots that comes along with it, I've decided that I can waste no more time living an unhealthy lifestyle. I've had a couple close calls when it comes to my FVL, and also am predisposed to Type II Diabetes. Even being only 30 pounds or so overweight is enough to worsen these issues. I'm here at SP in hopes that with such a remarkable community, I'll be able to really conquer ...

My Goals:
-Lose about 35 pounds to return to my wedding day weight, a healthy 145 lbs!
-Drink 8-10 glasses of water per day.
-20 minutes per day on the treadmill, 7 days a week.
-Take my lunch to work at least 3 days a week.

My Program:
I'm using the SP app on my phone to track my nutritional intake during the day - hopefully this will help keep me from mindlessly chomping anything that comes near me! Also, I'm getting up at 5:30am now instead of 6am to work in my 20 minutes on the treadmill. I'm also trying to work in an additional 15 minutes in the afternoon if possible!

Other Information:
My family is absolutely the best gift I've ever been given! Unfortunately, because of that, I have a bad habit of putting myself last. I'm trying REALLY hard to put myself first here to finally reach my goals and cut down on my health risks.

In my free time, I like to read (yes, I like vampire novels - bite me!), watch a great comedy, or hold the flashlight while my husband is working on a car (mindless, but fun). :)

wishing you much success winning your battle! how's your program working out for you so far? i know i've completely succumbed to chocolates last weekend (considering that i usually don't even like sweets that much lol) so i'm trying to bounce back now (no pun intended).

Welcome!!!

I started my journey on 09/05/2006 and I did not expect for it to happen....I lost 30lbs in 4 months!!!

Spark People WORKS!!

It does become a habit and you will succeed. This is a GREAT site and best of all it's FREE!! You have nothing to lose but weight and you are motivating soooo many which is the BEST FEELING EVER!!

and remember if motivation leaves you, find will power and reel him on in :)
