I've been sort of half-hearted trying to lose weight. Now it's time to really buckle down. I've stayed pretty much steady, but I'd like to see some of it go away. Which means I'll have to start moving more than what I do at work. There's so many times I can fit a few minutes of exercise in but I don't. Time to get off my lazy butt.

My Goals:
1. Lose at least one inch off my waist, abdomen and hips by January 31

2. Lose 5 pounds by the end of January

3. Be more attentive to my eating habits, both in portion control and what I eat.

My Program:
1. I'm trying to watch what I eat better, so I can indulge in what I love (banana splits!) once in a while without feeling guilty.
2. I'm trying to be more active. Being in school means a lot of computer work, so I have to make an effort to move. My 2 year old granddaughter is good at helping me do that!
3. Drink more water and less diet pepsi.
4. Remember I have a wedding coming up next year and I want to fit in my dress.

Personal Information:
I live in Minnesota, have three living children, two lovely stepdaughters, four sons in law, and six grandchildren. I'm a registered nurse have my master's degree in nursing education. I teach in a community college nursing program. I love to knit (and crochet), read, listen to music, watch movies and spend time with my husband who is retired.

Other Information:
I have been a fan of Dick Francis's mysteries for years. In his book Straight, there is a quote that I try to emulate: May I deal with honour, may I act with courage, may I achieve humility. I think it's a great way to try to live.

emoticon emoticon Six Terrific Truths about Time emoticon emoticon
First: Nobody can manage time. But you can manage those things that take up your time.

Second: Time is expensive. As a matter of fact, 80% of our day is spent
on those things or those people that only bring us 2% of our results.

Third: Time is perishable. It cannot be saved for later use.

Fourth: Time is measurable. Everybody has the same amount of time..
Pauper or King. It is not how much time you have; it is how much you use.

Fifth: Time is irreplaceable. We can never take back time once it is gone.

Sixth: Time is a priority. You have enough time for anything in the world,
so long as it ranks high enough among your priorities.

Remember: Time is seconds; seconds are minutes; minutes are hours; hours are days; days are years and years are your lifetime!
