Flab fighting baby boomer

(08/24/2013) I turned 57 a week ago, which means my 50s are almost in the rearview mirror, with 60 approaching fast.

I've gotten to the point where I accept my size, and don't hate myself because of it now, but I would really PREFER to be smaller, just because it's easier to get around, fit into chairs and cars and bathroom stalls.

I also want to retain my independence and mobility as I get older--and I could really use some more energy too--so here I am, ready to see ...

Welcome to Living Binge Free! Over three years ago, I recognized that bingeing was my biggest issue, as my meals and snacks were actually okay. I concentrated just on reducing bingeing instead of giving it up entirely. Now it's almost non-existant, though overeating happens sometimes. I support that our team concentrates on that, not on weight loss, though loss has happened for all of our long-termers.

Have a fair and reasonable eating plan, move more, and keep looking to turn your attention to the other concerns of life! A year from now you will be in a much different place.

My doctor won't put me on thyroid meds even though it sometimes tests badly. I think my body is odd as I lose if I eat carbs even though everyone says otherwise. Salt is a big enemy to me as well.

I hope you see some breakthru for what works for you.

Your status made me cry.

I've been on again off again for years and finally at age 54 I am at my lowest weight ever. If I had given up, this would not have happened. 255... lowest in decades.
