I have just returned (once again) to spark people. Since joining in 2008, I have had victories and defeats and periods of going MIA. I'm happy to be back. It helps me to stay "grounded", I think. Focused. Aware. I periodically get weary of feeling like I have to track my food and fitness...and those are the times I tend to falter and regain weight. I am finally accepting that this may be a life long process and I may never be completely free from the emotional attachments I have to food. As with other disabilites or diseases, It's something I can learn to manage and live with. It doesn't HAVE TO beat me. I have choices. Every day. Sometimes I make choices that lead away from my goals and true desires. But I also make good choices and hope that those good choices will outweigh (no pun intended) the poor choices in the long run.
The only thing I know to do when I fall, is to get back up, brush off my dusty knees and wounded pride...and continue...one step at a time.
-to become strong and healthy
-to feel good about myself again
-to take care of myself in hopes of keeping diabetes, heart disease, and cancer at bay; the things that contributed to both of my parents dying too young.
I don't really have a specific program at this time. Just trying to make wise choices and listen to my body's needs. It WILL tell us, if we are listening. Nothing is off limits. Having said that, I remind myself often that what I eat today will be evident tomorrow (or the next day!)
I try to get some kind of exercise in most days.
I currently live in NC with my husband and 2 dogs. I enjoy Pintrest, Facebook, and learning new things. I like to make slideshows set to favorite songs.
I have 5 awesome kids, 1 lovely DIL, 4 great SIL's, and two precious grandchildren.

Favorite Foods: Blackened salmon, all kinds of berries,really fresh fruit, salads dark chocolate, cold cereal, natural peanut butter, eggplant parmesan, hearty soups, and brownies!
