as a life long dieter I want this to become a lifestyle. I am exhausted from diets that are expensive, have limits , restrictions , complex rules,& exhaustive exerciser that have left me still fat & felling like a longterm failure.

Yes, Zumba is a dance exercise. It is different from the jazz exercises of the 1980s. There is a warm-up and cool-down. Not so much calesthenics and more shaking the booty. It is done to Latin music, and actual dance steps are integrated into it...rumba, mambo, etc. A klutz like me will take months to "get it", but real dancers (some of them in their70s) look graceful and sexy doing the moves. I find it a challenge, because there is room for improvement in style, unlike most exercise programs where you can do it slower or faster, or shorter or longer, but they are repetitious and do get tedious after a few months.

You can find the Outsmart Diabetes or DTOUR diet (by Prevention) by googling either title, I think. Yes, I have done very well on it, it seems! I think it might be very similar to the SP diet, except that it probably works with bg better. What I meant with my comment about bg was that those of us with diab seem to be affected more when our bg #'s spike...so keeping them level is better for us all around. I have my diab under control with diet and exercise - I am doing the Walk off Weight program that Prev has, also. I have worked up to the super interval part of it and find it is great - a year ago, I would NEVER have been able to do this!!
Good luck!!
Janet

Wow! Zumba was fun. The instructor didn't give enough directions, but everyone had the same problem. After a few classes I'm sure it'll be even more fun. emoticon Glad things are going better today! Stay Sparked.
