one pound at a time

hi . I looked at this site many times and almost signed up so many times, finally i just took the plunge and committed myself to get healthier. I am 45 and have battled my weight for about the past 20 years. I live in Ga. with my husband of 7 years and I have 2 step-sons and a granddaughter who has totally captured my heart. I want to stick around to see her grow up, and sit on our front porch with my husband when we are old and grey.

My Goals:
I want to get healthy. I want to be able to go on longer walks and not get winded and have to stop. I also have high blood pressure and would love to be able to not take 2 different kinds of pills to control it.

My Program:
I am staying in my calorie range and I am on the move!!!! I am finding ways to keep moving and limiting the t.v. time.

Personal Information:
I am from Georgia and I love to live here. My second place to pick to live would have to be near the ocean.

Other Information:
I love suspense novels like the type James Patterson writes but do not like scary movies. I love movies that deal with treasure hunting,etc. And of course, my favorites are the Indiana Jones movies or anything with Harrison Ford in it.

Ha Ha! We do seem to have alot in common. Basically I eat only fresh chicken, turkey , not alot of red meat. Fresh fruit and veggies. Try to watch my fat intake but I don't count everthing . I eat 3 meals a day and watch my PORTION CONTROL. That has always seemed to be a problem for me. I don't snack much except for a granola bar or grapes (these are my favs) Oh and I love honey wheat pretzels! I drink plenty of water. No cola/diet cola and no caffiene. Exercise is something I have to make myself do. I walk when it is cool enough ( I hate to sweat!) and I have a pool so I do water aerobics about 20 to 30 min. everyday. What is your weight loss plan and when did you start? BTW, what BP meds are you on? I am on Diovan and atenolol. Funny, did you ever think you would reach the age where you would be discussing the meds that you take with others ? When did we become our Grandmothers?? hahaha Have a great weekend! emoticon

Hi! Thanks for the praise, I think i am really going to love this site! Oh and I see you have high blood pressure also. I have to take two pills daily also. It stinks doesn't it! emoticon
