Hi! My name is Vanessa. I'm here because I would like to try taking control of a life that has never really had control before. I want to prove to myself and to my family that I can take care of myself and that I'm capable of being independent. I have a faith in God that He will help me through this journey. While I'm here, I hope to reach 140 pounds (an appropriate weight for my height) by the end of 2017. I'm planning a trip to New Zealand to visit my boyfriend and while I'm saving up the money for it, I'd like to trim down and dazzle him! We've known each other for some time, but we've never met face to face so it will be really exciting! I will try to post progress pictures along the way if I remember to! While I know it's hard work to achieve this kind of goal, I am willing to put effort into it, especially when I have a set date and goal that means a lot to me. I seriously have no reason not to achieve my goals. Ideally, I'd like to be closer to 200 pounds around Christmas in 2016. It would mean I'm right on track. I think it's possible if I put my mind to it. Even with all this drive and reason, please help keep me motivated, as it is a very difficult thing for me. As someone who has gone through the whole depression thing, I'm well aware how motivation can easily disappear. I have gone through a lot. All in all, I hope to be the next success story and inspire people on this site and others in my life! Have a great day, everyone, and God bless! -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
-+-+-+- 5% Weight Loss Goals: (Each calculated goal weight is 5% of the projected weight once reaching the previous 5%.) 5% of 290 = 275.5 lbs. 5% of 275.5 = 261.2 lbs. Etc. = 248.1 lbs. 235.7 lbs. 223.9 lbs. 212.7 lbs. 202.1 lbs. 192 lbs. 182.4 lbs. 173.3 lbs. 164.6 lbs. 156.4 lbs. 148.6 lbs. 141.2 lbs. "Beautifly" is a made-up word that I concocted by combining the words 'beautiful' and 'butterfly'. The name Vanessa means butterfly. I want to remind myself that I'm beautiful even when I don't feel I am. Instead of being a beautiful butterfly, I prefer to say I am a BEAUTIFLY.

    Thanks beautiful

I always thought a bit of a nail beyond the fingertips made my fingers look longer. There are so many pretty designs for fingernails now, many of which can be done at home. I read your blog about nail clipping.

Thank you for commenting on my blog, "God is at work here."

I read about you and the trip you have planned. I find that non-food rewards help me to get to my goals.

I used to be a nail-biter and went to nail clippers. I carry clippers, a file and an emery board in my purse and have a nail file in a pocket in my Bible cover. My husband and I sometimes clean the church building which is done once a month. I try to put my clippings in a pocket to carry home to throw away. I am 64 and my nails seem to peel back in layers. Once the top layer is gone, the rest of the nail past the end of my fingertips gets raggedy or breaks off. I don't wear polish generally, but I don't like it when a nail catches on clothing (especially pantyhose) and I file and shape them myself. I do get pedicures about twice a year with nail polish.

You are working on yourself and we all have areas that we are not happy with. Keep moving forward like you are doing and have a wonderful trip.

I hope you haven't forgotten your page and your dedications to a healthier body and life style!

Just made some new food choices in my daily life and making time for exercise alongside caring for my 2month old.

    Best wishes!

Hi!! I would love a buddy to check in with. I am doing Power 90. I just finished my 4th day. I've got 90 pounds to lose. I can;t do lunges or squats due to life long knee issues.
