Hi! My name is Vanessa. I'm here because I would like to try taking control of a life that has never really had control before. I want to prove to myself and to my family that I can take care of myself and that I'm capable of being independent. I have a faith in God that He will help me through this journey.

While I'm here, I hope to reach 140 pounds (an appropriate weight for my height) by the end of 2017. I will try to post progress pictures along the way if I remember to!

While I know it's hard work to achieve this kind of goal, I am willing to put effort into it, especially when I have a set date and goal that means a lot to me. I seriously have no reason not to achieve my goals.

Ideally, I'd like to be closer to 200 pounds around Spring in 2017. It would mean I'm right on track. I think it's possible if I put my mind to it. Even with all this drive and reason, please help keep me motivated, as it is a very difficult thing for me.

As someone who has gone through the whole depression thing, I'm well aware how motivation can easily disappear. I have gone through a lot.

"Beautifly" is a made-up word that I concocted by combining the words 'beautiful' and 'butterfly'. The name Vanessa means butterfly. I want to remind myself that I'm beautiful even when I don't feel I am. Instead of being a beautiful butterfly, I prefer to say I am a BEAUTIFLY.

My Goals:
Get into a dieting routine and stick to it.

Get into a rhythm of exercising more often, preferably 3 times a week. (Maybe more later down the road.)

Raise my self-esteem and confidence levels.

Be more social. (Make some friends.)

Learn to play the guitar.

Write a song.

Be able to run long distances without becoming fatigued.

Drink more water. ✓

Be more active.

Believe in myself more.

Fit in carnival and amusement park rides without worrying that I'm going to break them.

Find a job. ✓

Get my own place.

I'm combining workouts I generate from SparkPeople with dancing and going outside and walking for 30 minutes or so.

My lifetime goal is to learn as many languages as I can. My current repertoire of languages include English, Spanish, French, and Japanese.

I'm an aspiring writer and I love writing stories! I like participating in writing contests and hope that one day I can be a published author with tons of stories out there in the hands of many people!

I also love to sing. I'm kind of shy when in front of people, though, but I'm trying to overcome that.

    Legs: Squats. Lunges. Leg lifts. To name a few

    Arms: Current Challenge: Push ups. Triceps Dips w/chair. arm circles...
    Have you ever heard of the saying.... where there's a will, there's a way?
    If you want it bad enough- you will find a way....

    Here is a short list of some exercises for different body parts..

    Abs: All sorts of crunches. Plank. Modified plank. Bridge.

    Here are a few to name. If you haven't heard of some of these- check them out on a computer search- google. sparkpeople even has a search in the top right hand corner near your sparkpage. Its the blue Magnifying glass. ((Last option after apps))

    I know there are sometimes reasons why we can't do something... but sometimes when we ask for help and think outside of the box it can be possible to do something without a given gym membership or hand weights!! WE CAN DO IT!!

    Please don't worry about the rules of the challenge. It's VERY easy once you get going and you can ask questions as you need. Right now we are in the interim...still recruiting and getting look around and ask! We try very hard to offer the how to's when we send stuff out!
