This is my dog, Sammy. He passed away on July 29, 2013. He was blind, deaf, and my heart.

And we never even know we have the key...

I've been here since 2007. In that time, I've gained 30 some-odd pounds. It's not SparkPeople's fault; it's all mine. I have been pretty consistent about tracking over the course of the whole time--both nutrition and fitness. But that's all I did was track. I didn't look at my numbers or plan in advance or build any sort of consistency...unless you're talking about consistently going over in my nutrition numbers and under in my fitness numbers!

I'm very frustrated, but it's dawned ...

I'm very frustrated, but it's dawned on me. I have this amazing program at my fingertips, and I don't use it as it's supposed to be used! No wonder it hasn't worked! I've wasted so much time, being thoughtless and careless with this program, watching as other people have had success after success, and all I have to show for it is three clothing sizes higher than I started out with!

Well, no more.

I am following this program. I am going to do it mindfully. I am going to see it through, and gosh darn it, it is going to work.

"Dreaming is wonderful, goal setting is crucial, but action is supreme.
To make something great happen you must get busy and make it happen.
Take that action step today that will put you on your path to achievement."

Nice to know someone has tried No S for a substantial period of time! I'm really excited because I've been trying to figure this out for a long time -- how do I eat "normally" without all the angst around points, calories, etc. Like he says in his book, for a lot of us intuitive eating doesn't work because we're like the cat (or dog): the answer -- do you want to eat this -- is always yes! So, I like the structure of three meals, no snacks, no sugar. I like the days off where it can be slightly less structured (and found I wanted to eat LESS knowing I could eat anything). Time will tell if it works for me, but I honestly cannot think of any reason why not!

I laughed pretty hard at that. But I think I'm broken. I totally went into YOLO mentality like "Oh I'm going to die? Let's live it up then!" Jesus.

Hello, my dear BEATLETOT! Thank you so much for reading and commenting on my blog. It was fun having my children home this past weekend, and my body actually feels a little bit better today. Writing about things is such a release. I think that posting my blog yesterday and then getting some wonderful support from my friends here helped ease the pain. Thank you for listening. I sure hope things are going well with you.
