One Step at a Time!

I was at my heaviest during my freshman year of college (about 188). In the 4 years after, I slowly dropped about 40 pounds. I feel like my healthy habits are becoming a little lazy and am seeing the pounds start to inch back. Want to lose about 15-20 pounds and tighten up!

I've recently discovered a love of running, which clears my head (and burns mad calories! ) - I've done a few 5Ks and one 10K...next challenge is a half-marathon!!


MY NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS: ...

MY NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS:
- Run a half marathon!
- Move out of my house
- Floss at least 6 days a week (I know, I know, I'm a wild woman)
- Follow a pescatarian diet (no meat, except fish) -- however, will let myself cheat if the meat is free range or grass fed
- Have more patience, don't let the little things get me so worked up (difficult, as I'm half Sicilian)

My first goal/reward = reach 150 pounds/health magazine subscription (either Shape or Self)

My Goals:
I just want to lose a few more pounds. I've had them for nearly 10 years, so they're holding on for dear life.

Trying not to get frustrated and accept that this will happen little by little!

My Program:
I've never been into strength training, so for the first time I'm really incorporating it into my exercise. Hoping it makes a difference!

My cardio generally alternates between Zumba and running, and long walks when the weather allows.

Personal Information:
When I'm not running, I'm probably reading (love A.J. Jacobs), watching TV (30 Rock! Community!), or watching movies (I could watch 'The 40 Year Old Virgin' a hundred thousand times). Or having a 'wine night' with the girls :)

Good luck tackling that last lb of 'winter weight.' I'm tackling the last of my 3 vacation lbs myself.

Good luck on your first half marathon too! Have you decided which one to do? I ran my first last year and even though I'd done some races before (and after) -- NOTHING compares to the sense of accomplishment and pride you get when you cross that finish line. Keep up the great work!

Thanks! I have a little bit of a shoe obsession, i bought 6 pairs the other week! Oops. How many pairs do you think you have? How is the shred going for you? Thoughts?

I added you as a sparkfriend after reading your last blog. (I got it to from someone else's page somehow.) Anyway, its nice to find someone else who loves to run. I'm not very fast, but I enjoy being in races. I haven't done a 10k yet, but I hope to one day! Good luck on losing your last few pounds! :)
