Finishing my Thirties with a Bang!

I have been struggling with weight most of my life. It started around the time I was in middle school. In HS I lost all of my weight, but not in a healthy way. I remember barely eating anything except one sugary snack every day.

When I went to college I enjoyed the freedom of eating what ever I wanted in the cafeteria. I know I ate the worst foods possible. I think I gained about 30lbs my freshman year. The pounds just kept adding on throughout college.

I've been married for almost 14 years and my weight has fluctuated but has steadily been going up. My lowest weight, ironically enough, was after both of my pregnancies. I also was a member of Jenny Craig and I lost about 30 lbs a few years ago.

I am doing this to make a lifestyle change. I don't want to diet anymore. I don't want to spend anymore money on weight loss. I want to feel and look healthy!

Update 4/17/11
Well I didn't do so hot through the winter months, but I am back. I've gained back everything I lost, so it is going to be a lot of hard work to get back into those jeans! I know I can do it and I am going to need to if I am going to fit into last summers shorts.

Update7/12
It has not been the best year. I've gained some weight and my body is in terrible shape. I was diagnosed with Intracranial Hypertension in March and have been dealing with it and the new medication the past couple of months. Now that my pressure is low and my side effects seem to be over, I need to get my strength back. I am slowly working on adding exercise back into my daily routine, but I am trying to it over do it. I know I can do this, t is just going to be a much slower process than it was for me before.

Good morning!!! How are you doing? We are starting with another heat wave again. So I've been getting up super early to run...it's brutal...but worth it not to run in the heat!!!!

We are heading south I think around the 14th of August (we are driving down) and spending almost a week in Universal. :( I'd love to meet up with you!!!! That would be so cool!!!!!! This the the first time we are going there. Then the following week we are going to Vero Beach for the week. One of these days we are going to have to meet up though. Maybe when you make one of your Ikea or King of Prussia trips!!!!

Sorry I didn't get right back to you. I fell off the earth yesterday!!! One of those days!!!!

I am so sorry to hear about all that has been going on with your health!!!! That sounds so painful!!! I hope you are finding a way to manage the pain. I get migraines...so I can't even imagine how you deal with that!!! I am glad you have some relief from the spinal tap. How awful!!!!!

Zach is enjoying band camp. Luckily it's indoors!!!!!!

When are you going to that magical place???? We are going to Florida the last two weeks in August. We may be there at the same time.

How is everything else going? Good job with your workouts!!!!!!!

SO good to hear from you! I have been thinking of you often & hoping all is well. I hope the summer is being good to you & you are getting some R&R.

It has been low-key here...just at home playing with the kids; Grace will be in 8th grade & was elected student body president. SHe goes off to leadership camp this week. We just had a party this past weekend for my DH's 45th B-day. And the next/last big thing is going to San Diego at the end of summer before school starts-up again. The twins will be starting school, too!

If you get chance I'd love to hear how you/family is doing. Take care!!!
