A late 40's mom looking to lose (lots of) weight and develop some lifetime healthy habits. I want to see my kids marry and grow old!
I have a daughter ( 20) who is away at university ( I miss her!) and a 17 year old son. I have been happily married for 25 years. My husband has been very supportive of my SparkPeople journey. He has always been a healthy eater and a hockey player so its never been a struggle for him!
My best friend is my chocolate lab named Maggie ( unconditional love ...

My Goals:
1.Make healthier eating choices every meal, every day.
2. Incorporate exercise into my daily routine.
3. Run 5K by July 1, 2010. Done June 11, 2010
4. Run 5K road race by Sept. 15, 2010
( signed up for "learn to run") June 20, 2010 . (Am now in 5K running group, June 30). "Graduated" 32 min. 50s Aug.2, 2010 First 5K official event completed Sept. 19, 2010 34S

My Program:
1. Cardio min. of 6 days /week.
2. Strength training min. 3 days/ week. ( THIS is a challenge!)
3. Drink min. 9 cups of water/day
4. Min. of 5 veggies/ fruits/day
5. Choose lower fat options
6. Each fish 2/week
7. Spark EVERY DAY!
8. Tell someone something positive every day.

Pearl and Mavis have retired. They are now enjoying a nice life of being at the bottom of my wardrobe, only being used when life is going to get dirty. My new shoes are Olive and Myrtle.
