January 2003 - Weighing in at 296 lbs. My nickname to many at this time is "Big Guy".

Feb 2011. I am back to matching my all time high weight after 8 years of trying to lose weight. It's hard for me to believe that I one time I had a handle on my weight and was successful at losing 60 lbs. but allowed all of it to return once again.

Ron's Journey

Through this page I will be sharing my journey towards a healthier and stronger life. It will be a story about moving forward towards my personal goals, dreams, and aspirations. It doesn't matter how long of a road one needs to travel to reach their destination, or how much time it takes. It's all about taking that first step forward, and then following it up with another, and then another until we finally get there. One will never fail until they quit and give up. Never quit....never give ...

Never quit....never give up....especially on yourself.

My Goals:
My first goal is to keep motivated and committed to a lifestyle change of healthy diet and daily exercise. Maintaining this daily committment is essential to taking one step after another down the road to progress.

My middle goal is to reclaim the 70 lb. loss that I had about 10 years ago and let slowly slip away. I struggled very hard to maintain that level initially, and eventually gave up. I want to hit that target again, and this time master it, and overcome the trouble I have had earlier to hold onto it.

My long term goal is to blast through the middle goal and attain a weight of 200 or less which would give me a total weight loss of 102 lbs. I would just love to be a 100 lb. loser.

My Program:
Strength training 3 times per week mixed with cardio workouts 6 days per week, walking a minimum of 5 miles per day.

Gosh I was so excited to hear from you....losing weight is one of the hardest things in the world to do and falling off the wagon frequently is common. I personally think as long as we are trying..we are not failing. I am sorry about the upcoming surgery...but hopefully once that is behind you, you are feeling better, you can focus on getting yourself healthy. Keeping you in my thoughts...

Ron, we have all missed you on the threads. Good to hear from you again. I have SO many friends here on SP, but cannot make the mind/body connection that so many do. I hope it happens for me soon, and the best of luck to you.
