I have been a member of SparkPeople for five years. I lost over 150 pounds at the beginning and then gained but for the first time I did not gain back more than I lost. I can't imagine where I would be if I had not stayed around, even when gaining. I am determined to drop this weight once and for all and to get healthier.

Yes, the article was written up in NYT. I just purchased the book "Keto Clarity" which is talking about the same. The concept used is really nothing new - Ketogenic diets have been around since the 1920's and Atkins created the low carb diet. The latest installment is the "low carb - high fat diet" which from a physiological point makes sense, or at least the concept of it. To apply it is not easy though.

yessssss do richard simmons tapes!!!

the ones we do are:

Boogie Down the Pounds - 50 minutes, disco/70s music, fairly-high impact
Party Off the Pounds - 50ish minutes, 80s music, fairly-high impact
80s Blast Off - 30 minutes, very quick workout: warm up, couple of high-impact songs ("Maniac" in particular), then cooldown
Disco Sweat - 60 minutes, disco, medium impact plus a crunch section at the end that you can probably skip :)

They were pretty cheap on Amazon!
