Aiming for self improvement!
May 2012: Back at it. I have been away from Spark for some time now. Life and lazyness seemed to get in the way. May 2012: Back at it. I have been away from Spark for some time now. Life and lazyness seemed to get in the way. I've managed to keep my weight around 140 lbs but am back here to focus on my physical fitness. I grew up with exercise induced asthma but managed to dance for 15 years with it. I have not had a serious attack in nearly 4 years now but fear of having one seems to be holding me back. My most recent attempts at moderate exercise resulted in some pretty scary panic attacks which I had not experienced before. I know people with asthma can be athletes. It is just going to be a slow process. I was not ever made to exercise as a teen and was even taken out of P.E. classes by my doctors. I can remember the last time I had to run a mile in junior high and ended up in the E.R. I know that with time and effort my body CAN do it and I may even be able to refer to myself as a runner. Origional intro from 2009: I am very excited about finding this website. My name is Beth and I am 35. Over the past few years I have developed horrible eating habbits. College set me off on the wrong foot and I have not managed to correct the nutrition wrongs I developed over that time. Prior to joining this site I depended on fast and convenient foods that were providing me with little nutrition. I have many goals but improving my eating habbits is the first one I plan to work on. I have decided to make a weekly grocery run and do my best to stay out of the drive thru. I am hoping to shed the 20+ extra pounds I have added to my 5'3" frame over the past few years but I am willing to take it slowly. My exercise plan is virtually non existent but I am hoping that I can develope a better one by taking small steps. I know this will improve my energy level and the way I feel about myself. Wish me luck!
