Hi! I'm 52 and I have had a stress ful 2 years. My husband of 28 years passed away in August of 2014. Since then I have down sized and moved to a much smaller house. It's been tough just getting from one day to the next, and I've managed to gain all the weight back that I lost six years ago. I think my life is finally beginning to settle back into a more normal routine and I'm ready to get back with the program.

I know from experience on Sparkpeople that the best way for me to lose weight and eat right is to track everything. I've learned a lot about setting goals and working towards them step by step. I know it works. I've done it. I've had a few false starts they past year, but I think the time is finally right.

Here's to a great year coming up.

My Goals:
My goals at this time are mainly to eat healthy and develope a healthier lifestyle. I really want to reach my goal weight (140) by June.

I also want to make my real body match the image I have of myself in my head, the way I looked 20 years ago, BK - before kids.


My Program:
I am logging what I eat everyday and trying to stay in my calorie range. I stopped drinking cokes and I eat many more fruits and veggies, less simple carbs.
I exercise almost everyday.

My name is Barbara and I live in Arkansas with my 24 year old son, Mark.

Climbing back on the band wagon to lose weight I have regained over the past couple of years.

Because of Sparkpeople have been able to lose 40+ pounds and have a new lease on life. I have gone back to college to major in History. I never thought I would get my old figure back but here I am.

My favorite book of all time is "To Kill A Mockingbird" by Harper Lee.

    Has this ever happened to you? You are feeling discouraged and wonder if it is worth all of the effort. Then you open your SP page and see a word of encouragement from a friend? It is just what you need to keep going, knowing there are those who care and are struggling along with you. Happens to me all of the time. I hope I am one of those friends to you.
