Sparks To Light The Fire

Now retired from a very demanding day job, I'm trying to organize myself into some self-discipline and make good use of my time when the whole day is free to me! I'm a care-giver to my elderly mother, who is still quite active for her age, and a woodworker building a second career as a professional wood turner. See my work at barbs.vpweb.com. I'm finding that running this new business takes as much time on the computer as it does in my work shop! And computer time does not count as exercise ...

I know what you mean about missing each other when our train went through! I wish I would have looked at the map better ahead of time and given you a heads up. It was only a whistle stop, but it would have been fun to wave at you from the train :)

Next time I will know better!

Yes Barb, we went through Wenatche this morning. I haven't been able to use my phone as there was no reliable signal. You certainly live in a beautiful place!

Oh, I know. The stories coming out are quite sickening. They found a four year old boy stuck in mud up to his waist or higher, on the second day. Some neighbor woman took him at the ambulance station and stripped him down, washing him off and wrapped him up tight against her, telling him she was his grandmother now. She said he was terrified, as you'd expect. His parents got him later; he was with his grandmother, who is still missing. It just breaks my heart. Thank you for the note, though. I know the responders felt So helpless there, unable to get to anyone. Sometimes life just makes you wonder..
