Funny how time escapes you. I logged back into SP after reading an article in Good Housekeeping (Feb. 2010). I haven't been here since 2008. I actually joined in 2006, but never took advantage of the tools available. After reading so many success stories and pages here on SP, I've decided to enter my first ever "blog" post. So please hang with me as I describe my roller coaster journey with my weight.

Funny how time escapes you. I logged back into SP after reading an article in Good Housekeeping (Feb. 2010). I haven't been here since 2008. I actually joined in 2006, but never took advantage of the tools available. After reading so many success stories and pages here on SP, I've decided to enter my first ever "blog" post. So please hang with me as I describe my roller coaster journey with my weight.

As I child I never thought about my weight. I was very active, ate whatever I wanted and stayed fit. My weight issues started after I got married. During my first year of marriage I gained a lot of weight. Then we started our family. I successfully lost weight after the birth of our son in 1997 following WW and kept it off for almost 3 years. In 2001 we had our daughter and instead of losing weight after baby the lbs. just kept creeping on.

After hitting an all time high of 208 lbs in 2008, I rejoined WW in Aug. 2008 and lost 31 lbs. by Dec. 2008. I never hit my goal weight, but felt so much better with what I had lost. Now here I sit again at 198 lbs. in 2010. I've gained 21 of the 31 lbs back since Jan. 2009....sigh.

I have to confess that I am a diet book junkie. I could write my own book with all the knowledge I gained through reading all these books (some good and some bad) LOL. WW is the only program I followed as a "diet". I'm not a fad diet person. I like food to much to "give up" a food group. I also love to cook. I think my biggest down fall is portion size and emotional eating. I cook healthfully because of my family (no frying, choosing low-fat dairy, no soda, and good fats), but I can pack it away.

So here I am friends. Hoping to gain control once again and win this battle over my weight. Here's to a healthy and fit 2010!

Thank you for the friend add, Banda! I'm so glad that you came back to the Church, and I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. I read your story about your struggles with your weight, and we have so much in common that it could have been my story (without the kids, however). Now I'm off to add you as a friend!

Thanks! One step at a time for sure. I'm just so glad to have found a team that their faith walk is the same as mine! Two support systems in one place. Gotta love it.
