Getting Back in Shape for Good!

I'm 43 years old, married, with 2 sons (an 8 year old and a 2 year old). I've been focused on working, getting pregnant, and taking care of my kids for the past 9 years. Unfortunately, I didn't do a good job of taking care of myself during those 9 years. I went from an active, in-shape, woman to an overweight, out-of-shape mom. I'm tired of dodging family photos and being on the sidelines at the pool.

It's time to get my confidence back!

On July 12, 2014 I am starting a Year-of-Fitness Goal for myself. I am pledging to do 365 days of consistent exercise. (It can be as little as a 20 minute walk but I will get some sort of intentional physical exercise done each day.)

Congratulations on your loss of 1.6 pounds. I am a slow loser too, and have put on some weight since starting exercise. I am hoping to make it back to 125 before cheat day next Sat.

How was the Kettle Bell Workout? I am trying to wait 1 more week before trying it (getting used to exercise again after major surgery - was released from post-op restrictions 1.5 weeks ago, but I was unable to do any exercise except walk for over 7 weeks).

I bought the grapefruit juice and forgot to try it Saturday - I'll try to remember next week!

Hi! Thanks for the post on my page. I bought a 10 pound kettlebell from walmart a while back. It wasn't too expensive, but I am glad to be starting with the 10 pounds. But I can see where I will out grow it soon. The next one up is about $50! I'll have to put a pin in that for a little while. Anyway, good luck with trying kettlebells. They are fun and crazy at the same time, I think! :)

I haven't had any grapefruit juice, I was thinking of having a small glass after breakfast tomorrow to see what happens. I also have not done the exercises, I was still a post-op patient when I started the 4HB diet and am going to try those also tomorrow.

Keep me posted on how the diet is working for you. I had a lousy week this week, I am still up .2 pounds from last cheat day and tomorrow is my cheat day again. The only thing I changed was I started back to some of my old exercise programs last Sunday. It will be interesting to see if I lost inches instead of pounds (keeping my fingers crossed on that one).

I am adding you as a friend, maybe together we can figure more of this out.
