I am a 44-year-old mother of 2 very young children (late-in-life pregnancies) with a goal of losing weight and getting super healthy for my kids. I'm into yoga, pilates, walking, eating fruits and veggies and some fish. I work crazy hours, with a crazier commute, and then go home to a family that needs my constant attention. So it's hard to get any "healthier me" time --- whether it's just going to the bathroom (pounding on the door, tears from the 7-year-old to let her in) or working out (the ...

If your kids are this age, you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about!!!

My Goals:
My goals are losing weight and getting super healthy for my kids. I'm into yoga, pilates, walking, eating fruits and veggies and some fish. When I'm 50, my son will be 10, and he may want me to toss a football with him. I want him to grow up thinking his mom's just as young and energized as the younger moms of his peers.

My Program:
What am I doing? Who knows. I am going to try to exercise more (lately, I get more walking in than anything else). I have a gym membership and a stack o' exercise dvds.

Other Information:
I am a 19-year veteran "features creature" journalist. I have a blog about diet and fitness through my newspaper, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. My co-worker Gail and I blog about diet and fitness from the angle of NON-experts, but we do have access to news wire reports and health books, etc.
