February 2013 vs. February 2015. One year of maintenance under my belt!

55 lbs down, and I can truly say that joining SP has been one of the best choices I've ever made.

A Healthy New Me

In March 2013, I had gotten sick of being unhealthy. I was unenergetic, stressed, and felt...well...fat. I decided to do something about it, so I joined Sparkpeople. My goal, instead of getting "skinny" was to become healthier and feel better.

Since then, I've come a long way! I have tons more energy, feel less stressed, and truly appreciate my body. I've found the joy of making creative and healthy meals, which has really helped me stay on track.

I've been maintaining since February 2014. I'm quite happy with the way my body now looks and feels, so my goal now is to learn how to maintain and eat intuitively.

My husband and I have been trying to start a family since May 2014. I have been having issues with hormone production since then and found out in January 2015 that this is likely due to my diet and exercise regimen while losing weight. So now my goal is to learn how to maintain a healthy weight while also being as gentle to my body as possible.

My Goals:
Maintain a weight between 135 and 145, with my goal weight being 140.

Work out 6 days a week for at least 20 minutes, but watch myself for pushing too hard. Do activities that make me feel good but aren't too stressful on my body.

Plan and track my workday food efficiently, so that I have more free time on the weekends.

When in social eating situations, learn how to enjoy myself without overeating to the point I am no longer enjoying my food or the way my body feels.

Be able to keep an open mind about my weight as it naturally fluctuates up and down.

My Program:
Because of my job, I only have time to do a short workout of about 20 minutes on Monday through Thursday. I try to find videos that mix cardio and strength training to keep my body up to par.

Friday is my rest day and my day off work, so I run errands, clean the house, and walk the dog to stay active.

Saturday and Sunday I do 30 minutes of cardio, trying to keep my heart rate in the fat burn and cardio zones without reaching the peak heart rate zone.

I aim to maintain my weight, so I eat around 2000 calories a day. This fluctuates based on how many calories my Fitbit shows I've burned that day.

I generally try to stay active during the day, looking for ways to move more in my every day life.

Personal Information:
I'm from Michigan, and I have been married since December 2010. We have a sweet doggie named Winter who is the light of my life.

Other Information:
As a result of my efforts to eat healthier and at home more often, I've discovered a love for tasty, healthy recipes and cooking. I am pretty adventurous when it comes to trying new foods, and I love that being healthy and eating good food are not at all mutually exclusive.

Thanks for the teddy bear !
I guess you put yourself in the same predicament as some female gymnasts,
ballerinas, and overtrained athletes. Guess the extremes can really mess with our bodies. You were at least in an elite group! Kind of crazy what we put ourselves through.

Ya I learned that from my SIL! She roasted garlic in hers and did all kinds of stuff and I was like WOW that's so awesome and faster than using the oven and less waste of energy too for just a little bit so I ended up getting one and use it all the time! I never knew how convenient toaster ovens were till I saw her use hers so much!!! LOL

Ya we've found we really enjoy cooking together and we pretty much do everyday for dinner now! We made the Eggs on Clouds again this morning since he had the holiday off! So yummy! That little bit of bacon and parm really make it taste awesome and the chives just add a light taste and pretty color it really is a winning recipe!
