A Healthy New Me

In March 2013, I had gotten sick of being unhealthy. I was unenergetic, stressed, and felt...well...fat. I decided to do something about it, so I joined Sparkpeople. My goal, instead of getting "skinny" was to become healthier and feel better. When I got a Fitbit in September 2013, I decided to use it to eat at a 1,000 calorie deficit, which was actually more than I was eating while only tracking with Sparkpeople.

In March 2013, I had gotten sick of being unhealthy. I was unenergetic, stressed, and felt...well...fat. I decided to do something about it, so I joined Sparkpeople. My goal, instead of getting "skinny" was to become healthier and feel better. When I got a Fitbit in September 2013, I decided to use it to eat at a 1,000 calorie deficit, which was actually more than I was eating while only tracking with Sparkpeople.

I hit my goal range and began maintaining in February 2014. I strove to learn how to maintain while keeping a balance in other areas of my life. At that point, I was working out for an hour daily and pushing to the max during essentially every workout.

My husband and I then began trying to start a family in May 2014. I had issues with hormone production and found out in January 2015 that this is likely due to my diet and exercise regimen while losing weight.

In April 2015, after a long round of injectable hormone therapy, I found out I was pregnant. I had an ultrasound a few weeks later and discovered it was triplets! I was completely overwhelmed at the time, but now my husband and I are both very excited and trying to prepare ourselves for the big task ahead as best as we can.

My Goals:
Eat at least 4,000 calories a day up until week 20 of my pregnancy, and then follow that with eating as much as I can.

Listen to my body for when I can be more active and when I should rest.

Plan and prepare as much as possible for having three tiny ones to take care of!



My Program:
Eat, eat, eat! But continue to make healthy choices that will benefit both me and my babies.

Walk the dog when body, circumstance, and weather permits for 15 minutes a day.

Be active in some way daily, whether a formal workout video or grocery shopping, etc.

Personal Information:
I'm from Michigan, and I have been married since December 2010. We have a sweet doggie named Winter who is the light of my life. I became pregnant with triplets at the end of May 2015 =).

Other Information:
As a result of my efforts to eat healthier and at home more often, I've discovered a love for tasty, healthy recipes and cooking. I am pretty adventurous when it comes to trying new foods, and I love that being healthy and eating good food are not at all mutually exclusive.

Thanks for the sweet comment on my blog again! I SO very much appreciate your support! I'm glad I seem more like myself! Overall, I feel much more like since I decided to go from two recipes to one. It's just less stress. SO much better for me right now. :-)

Yah! Go ahead and send me that little infographic you have on pinterest! My big problem's that when I am craving chocolate, it's literally what I'm craving and nothing else helps. I've tried things before. I eat nutritionally what I need most days so I'm not sure it's just anything more than self-control. When I try substituting it with something else, most of the time I end up eating a lot more in the day than planned. I'm thinking maybe chocolate covered strawberries may be better? Or little cocoa flavored something without all the stuff? I'm working on figuring it out :-)

And thanks for the reminder of the hormonal changes. They suck, you're right!!! I'm even breaking out again... but things well level out eventually. I think I'll get back on track to losing over the next few weeks. The hormones really make it weird.

6-26-15 this is what I am about, today! Also new blog for the week! emoticon I add to my blogs almost daily & try to write a new 1, weekly! I am SO close to being BACK emoticon to goal, I am trying for 1/2# a week, now! Trying NOT to be extreme. Hot 116, humid up! Walked before sunrise! DH emoticon date night, YES! Glad you can relate to me so well with being on the pill for so long. Honestly, if I could go back to before I got married... I don't think I would of ever gotten on it in the first place now knowing what I know now. I think I would of rather just counted my cycle and play it safe than mess with my body like this, ya know? AT LEAST I have good advice for people now...to understand the full ramifications from a real person's POV.

And you're right! I am hoping that maybe it'll help with easier weight loss...but ain't no telling. We shall see! I'll really get a feel for it by the end of next week. I'm probably going to weigh myself on Saturday, but I'm guessing I'm not any less than I was last week... but hard to say. I don't feel "smaller". We shall see!

I hope you're doing well and enjoying your "little pop rocks" :-)
