A Healthy New Me

In March 2013, I had gotten sick of being unhealthy. I was unenergetic, stressed, and felt...well...fat. I decided to do something about it, so I joined Sparkpeople. My goal, instead of getting "skinny" was to become healthier and feel better.

Since then, I've come a long way! I have tons more energy, feel less stressed, and truly appreciate my body. I've found the joy of making creative and healthy meals, which has really helped me stay on track.

I'm currently transitioning into maintenance mode. I'm quite happy with the way my body now looks and feels, so my goal now is to learn how to maintain and eat intuitively.

My Goals:
Lose at least 1-2 pounds every week, resulting in losing 50-60 pounds by the end of summer 2014.

Drink at least two big glasses of water or green tea daily, with my push goal being 4 glasses.

Work out at least 6 days a week.

My Program:
Cardio mixed with strength training 6 days a week. 1 day of yoga, 2 days of core work, 2 days of upper body, and 1 day of lower body. They're, of course, spread out so that I'm not working the same section of my body two days in a row.

Personal Information:
I'm from Michigan, and I have been married since December 2010. We have a sweet doggie named Winter who is the light of my life.

Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday! I really appreciated the words of support - especially from someone who's accomplished as much as you have. It's good to have the goals out there for someone other than I to see - makes it harder for me to back out.

I hope you have a great day and good luck on what goals you have for yourself this month. :)

You are very welcome as always! And thanks for the encouragement on MY blog as well! :-) It'll be interesting to see how everything works for you as you are adapting to tracking less and seeing how that works for you. That's really cool! I can't wait to hear and see how it goes over the next few weeks and months...:-) emoticon

I think your work-out plans are great, especially if someone tends to be bored or if someone wants to be ready and fit to try something new.
It would create a well-rounded, versatile, prepared body!

You don't need to take the time to send other work-outs because I am trying to develop one that is more specific to dance and what I need to do in my life. One thing I was noting about your plans is how much variety you have from day to day. For me, I like repetition and to keep things somewhat the same.
It is just a personal preference because I like to measure from time to time to see if I am making progress as far as strength, flexibility, or less soreness. I also have to repeat my dance work-outs because I am trying to learn specific dances or get ready for a class and trying to perfect something. I am guessing that you like variety!

Thanks! It's good to see the progress side by side. Sometimes I don't feel like I am smaller at all, even if my pant size says otherwise. A photo doesn't lie.
