One year since losing over 30 lbs, and have kept it off!

One year ago my hubby and I watched Fat, sick and nearly dead. That DVD changed our life. We began juicing one meal a day and lost over sixty pounds together. We began walking up to ten miles a week, but a hurt knee, hurt back and hot weather brought an end to that. I started doing weight training the end of July and see fast results, better than any other form of exercise I have ever tried. I am dealing with having celiac disease, hypothyroidism and anemia. All being treated but still have days of utter exhaustion. I'm not really dieting, judging from the bag of BBQ chip, Pepsi and m and M's in the house:-) But juicing does wonders for the body and is how I've kept the weight off, I think! Haven't lost anymore but am getting smaller with the weight training. Just bought the smallest size pants in years, so yeah!

Well hello! thanks for your lovely comments on my photos page. Glad you enjoyed them. I like the humor and juxtaposition of my son standing in front of the black and white drawing of himself done by my daughter. Congrats on the talent in your family and all the awards that have been won. So much so that he was asked to "kindly hand em out to the others" lol Apparently, that art career is off and running. Wonderful!
Similar thing happened with my daughter after having won the national award. Apparently a huge to do since her teacher got REALLY excited and was like its been FOREVER since one of my students won NATIONAL!!!! it was great....the big irony was that my Sarah wasn't planning on going to art school at all but decided to pursue a career in degree in aeronautical engineering ( just finished her second semester!) and some of the other students were kind of ticked off since they thought it would look better on their college applications! I mean REALLLYYYYYYYYYY!
Anyhow, nice to meet you! Stop on by again! I'll add you as a friend and congrats on maintaining that weight loss for so long. Hope to be there someday (soon would be nice! LOL) but alas I think slow and steady wins the race

Thanks for the gluten free meal ideas. I'm reading 'Wheat Belly' right now and am pretty sure I'm going to try out gluten free eating.

I run a chemical free household so I to enjoy shopping for certain things on Amazon. I make my own cleaners but I get most of my personal items from Amazon. The free 2-day shipping with your Prime membership pays for itself after 1 or 2 uses! We also use it for office supplies for the business. It is also a great place for a few supplements I order. I would be so lost without that website, I cannot even imagine!

Most of the meals on the plan are ones you make from scratch, so I could totally see being able to modify for a gluten-free item. It should definitely be in stores now. I pre-ordered mine, and had it by the 7th. emoticon
