Trying To Be the Best Me I Can Be

After hitting my highest weight (161 lbs) in early 2011, my clothes weren't fitting right and I knew that I had let my weight gain go on for too long. Back in 2008 I had gained weight similarly (but unknown as to how much), and had lost it by calorie counting for a while.

Fitness, health, and nutrition had always seemed like such a mystery to me, but I am learning more and more each day- all in bite-sized portions that I can handle (no pun intended!). So far with SparkPeople I ...

Fitness, health, and nutrition had always seemed like such a mystery to me, but I am learning more and more each day- all in bite-sized portions that I can handle (no pun intended!). So far with SparkPeople I have lost 8 pounds (which to me is great progress and more importantly is sustainable for my lifestyle).

My Goals:
I want to be able to make this change in my life earlier rather than later so that I can be healthy, more confident at work and with others, and when I have kids someday be able to teach them what I never learned about portion control, health, and all of that when I was growing up. Here's to a new life of health... just taking it day by day!

My Program:
I have a 3, 4, 5 plan that I try to follow each day!:

300 calories for breakfast
400 calories for lunch
500 calories for dinner

(I can go over, but have to eat this at minimum! Usually I have a 100 calorie snack somewhere in there).

Also working on incorporating more activity into daily life: squats while waiting at the printer, taking the stairs, walking to the other office to talk rather than calling...I look funny sometimes in public, but i don't care.
